Sasha Farber Says One ‘DWTS’ Judges Scares Him — Who Is It?
Sasha Farber has never won a Mirrorball Trophy, but he’s been a pro on Dancing With The Stars for several years now. He’s seen many talented stars come and go and experiences something new each season.
Performing for the judges can be nerve-wracking at times. Sometimes, it can be absolutely terrifying. Sasha Farber recently opened up and admitted that one judge in particular scares him. Which one is it?
Sasha Farber admits to feeling intimidated by one judge
The competition on Dancing With The Stars is just heating up! Sasha Farber is glad to be back in the ballroom for another year. This could indeed be his year to take home the Mirrorball Trophy — if he can get over his jitters. He recently confessed that one judge makes him nervous — even if they get along well outside the ballroom.
“The most intimidating judge would have to be Derek [Hough],” the Australian dancer told Us Weekly. “You never know what he’s thinking. He’s always got this stone cold look and then [his score] could be, like, really bad. [Or] then he’s like, ‘That was great.’”
The 38-year-old went on to joke that it’s just something about Derek’s face that scares him.
Of course, Sasha is just joking around here. He and Derek Hough are actually very close. The DWTS judge was even a groomsman at his wedding. Sasha and his ex-wife Emma Slater even made an appearance on Derek’s YouTube channel in 2021.
However, there are other judges that intimidate other dancers. Val Chmerkovskiy has said that Carrie Ann Inaba can be particularly hard to impress from time to time. Many viewers at home feel that head judge Len Goodman is the intimidating one.

The dancers prepare to go toe to toe on Disney+ Night
This week, Sasha and his partner Selma Blair are hoping to impress the judges with their Disney+ Night routine. They’re going to perform the Quickstep to “The Muppet Show Theme” from The Muppet Show. At this point, anyone could win the competition. But Sasha thinks Trevor Donovan may be one competitor to watch.
Trevor is partnered with Sasha’s ex, Emma. But it doesn’t seem like there’s any bad blood there — everyone is keeping things professional.
“There are definitely a lot of dark horses, and Trevor [Donovan] came in this competition being afraid to dance,” Sasha admitted to Us Weekly. “That’s, like, the main thing you wouldn’t do if you’re afraid to dance, is do a dance show. And he’s firing on all cylinders. He’s doing phenomenal.”
