‘Survivor 43’ Release Date And New Tribes, What To Know

Survivor 43 premieres this week on CBS and brings the exciting reality TV show back for fans. There is also some good news and bad news for fans, as the show will not last as long as it used to. The new format will keep the condensed shorter 26-day format. However, the good news is that the fun and games are back.

Here is what you need to know about Survivor 43 as the new season begins.

When is Survivor 43‘s release date?

Survivor 43 premieres on CBS on Wednesday, September 21, at 8/7c. The premiere will be two hours, followed by the season premiere of The Amazing Race. CBS already filmed the new season in advance and it will last for only 26 days, whereas the original shows always typically lasted for 39 days. This wasn’t something fans loved, but it is the way it is now.

However, the good news is that this shorter time period will push the contestants harder than ever. There is also some more good news because even though it will be a shorter season again, there will be more extended episodes. As aforementioned, the premiere will be two hours long, while night two will check in at 90 minutes before the normal 60-minute episodes kick in.

Who is on Survivor 43?

This is not an all-star season, and there are no big returning stars. Instead, fans will have time to meet brand-new competitors vying for the prize at the end of the road. There are 18 competitors on Survivor 43 and they have been split up into three tribes. Here are the listings:

The Baka Tribe includes Ellie Scott, Jeanine Zheng, Morriah Young, Mike Gabler, Owen Knight, and Sami Layadi. Sami is the youngest at 19 and Mike is the oldest at 52. The Coco Tribe includes Geo Bustamante, James Jones, Ryan Medrano, Cassidy Clark, Karla Cruz Godoy, and Lindsay Carmine. No one on this team is younger than 25, but there are three that are 36 or older. Finally, the Vesi Tribe includes Cody Assenmacher, Dwight Moore, Jesse Lopez, Justine Brennan, Noelle Lambert, and Nneka Ejere. The youngest here is Dwight at 22 and the oldest is Nneka at 42.

What to expect from Survivor this season

There will be a lot of familiar challenges on Survivor 43. The new season was filmed in Fiji. However, when talking about the new season, host Jeff Probst said that it is “a new era of the game,” and there will be things no one has seen before. Since the filming is over, Jeff knows exactly what happens and seems excited. When talking about changes, he said there would be risk/reward dilemmas, small tribes, no food, and more, pushing these Survivors to their limit.
