UPtv pulls the plug on Bringing Up Bates.
If you’re a Bates family fan, you know that UPtv canceled their show. After years on the network, the show officially came to an end earlier this year.
The cancelation was sudden and unexpected. And UPtv has never come out and said why they pulled the plug on Bringing Up Bates. There is speculation among fans. Some think it has to do with an inappropriate comment made by one of the Bates boys. Others believe it’s due to Lawson Bates’ alleged involvement in the U.S. capitol insurrection.
Fans have been hopeful another network will pick up the show or that UPtv will bring it back after enough upset fans contact them. But at this point, there is no official word on the show’s fate.
Whitney Bates discusses the show’s future.
On Tuesday, on her Instagram Stories, Whitney hosted a Q&A session. She allowed Bringing Up Bates fans to ask questions and then took the time to answer many of them. She addressed a number of topics, from homeschooling to family life.
One fan was eager to know if the Bates family will ever return to TV. They are certainly missed by fans. Whitney said she received several messages about this.
She said, “Honestly, that is more of Zach’s parents’ thing, and we just have so much fun even getting to be a part of it. But I’m actually not sure. And as soon as we ever find out that there would be another one, we will totally let you know.”
Below, you can watch the video of Whitney explaining the situation.
So, for now, fans will have to wait and see what happens. Fortunately, many of Gil and Kelly’s kids have started their own YouTube channels, so you can follow them there and see what their families are up to. And, as Whitney mentioned, she will keep fans updated if she hears anything.

I like watching them on tv instead of YouTube they are my favorite show
Bring the Bates family back on tv. Take off the sisters wives. That is trash a man lives with 4-5 wives and all that crap is better than a good Christian show that teaches good morals you take off. Just stupid. We need good family shows. They all love each other they always help And support each other. Good family values
