‘Jeopardy!’: Mayim Bialik And Ken Jennings Share Rare Photo Together
Jeopardy! recently named Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings as the permanent co-hosts of the popular game show for the unforeseeable future.
However, while the two stars will host the show through at least 2023, they are rarely seen together and have actually rarely spent any time together at all. That looks like it is about to change as the two just shared a cute photo of them side by side on a couch.
Jeopardy! hosts Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings working together
When Jeopardy! named Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings as the new co-hosts of the game show, it polarized fans. Many fans don’t like Mayim because she often seems abrasive and they point out every perceived mistake she makes. Other fans love Mayim, but they feel Ken is dry as the host and is not as entertaining. However, producers chose to have both on the show as hosts, one taking over midway through the season.
In an interesting turn of events, the two have not spent much time together and reportedly barely met each other, despite both hosting the show. Since they are never on the same episode, there was no reason for them to meet, and Mayim said that she has only spoken to Ken one time. That seems to have changed.
On Wednesday, Mayim posted a tweet that had her and Ken sitting together on a couch in her fictional “Coffee & Tea” establishment from her sitcom Call Me Kat. In the caption, she wrote, “We got a trivia legend, Ken Jennings, joining Kat this season.”
Mayim Bialik will split time between Jeopardy! and Call Me Kat
When the announcement came that Jeopardy! was keeping both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings, some fans wondered how the scheduling would go. The two couldn’t just switch on and off randomly because that would get too distracting for viewers. At the same time, Mayim stars in her own sitcom — Call Me Kat — and has that show filming at various times of the year as well.
Jeopardy! found a way to get around that. Ken will host Jeopardy! from September until January. After this, Mayim will take over hosting duties and work until the end of Season 39. Mayim will cohost Celebrity Jeopardy! and the special tournaments. Ken will host the Second Chance Tournament and the Tournament of Champions.
While Mayim will host from January on, she will also be filming her show, Call Me Kat. The show airs as a midseason show, meaning it starts in January, instead of in September like full-season shows. This means that the show films ahead of that release. With the photo of Ken, it is clear he is guest starring in the show, which is filming now. Once Mayim takes over as the host in January, the show will be “in the can” and she will host while her sitcom is airing the already taped episodes.
