Honey Boo Boo’s Man Dralin Arrested, Accused Of Statutory Rape

Honey Boo Boo’s boyfriend, Dralin Carswell is not turning out to be a dream come true as previously thought. Last month, he posted some controversial words on his Instagram account. Now, his past has resurfaced and it is not pleasant whatsoever. It only reaffirms fans’ fears about the age difference between the two.

Honey Boo Boo Finds Young Love

It was a big deal to turn sixteen. Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson was told that, upon turning sixteen, she could start dating. Luckily, she had met Dralin Carswell prior to that through some friends. The two would talk constantly and her sister, Pumpkin noticed. Knowing that there was something going on, she was able to snatch his number from her phone. She called him up and asked if he would meet her so they could chat. She informed him that Alana had not had the easiest life and that she expected more from him if he was going to be in her life. As a surprise for Alana’s sixteenth birthday, Pumpkin invited Dralin.

It was really sweet as she could not have the sweet sixteen of her dreams due to the pandemic. Luckily, she was surprised by her crush who brought her flowers and jewelry. Of course, Pumpkin’s husband Josh Efird gave him the fatherly lecture to be a gentleman and respect her. They soon went on their first date and he quickly became her boyfriend. The family has since said that they really like him. Alana’s aunt Doe Doe and her sister, Anna say that they love him.

As for her mama, she does like him despite him being twenty-one. However, she wishes he had a more stable job. Recently, he went to California with Pumpkin and the family for work and vacation. News just broke that Alana was also considering weight loss surgery which Dralin was apparently joining her in on. Now, this all may be halted as his past has come to the surface.

Bad Boy, Bad Past

According to The Sun, Dralin was arrested in 2019 for statutory rape. Apparently, Honey Boo Boo’s boo had been dating a fifteen-year-old when he was eighteen. The mother of the girl brought her daughter down to the police department where she discussed the details. Apparently, Dralin climbed into the girl’s bedroom via the window where they proceeded to be intimate. When the teen was asked if it was consensual, she claimed it was.

She also told the officer: “her plan with Carswell was for him to come to the house and while there they had consensual unprotected sex in her bedroom.” Dralin, for his part, told the police that yes, she was his girlfriend and they had chatted about him coming by. However, he spent the whole day with his friends who actually contradicted Dralin’s statement. They claimed they did drop him off for an hour and then scooped him back up.

Though he was charged with statutory rape, he completed a diversion program so it was dismissed. On December 13, 2021, it was officially dropped. No word on if Alana had any knowledge of this or if her family was even aware of his past. Are you shocked to learn this information?
