Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson Cleared For Life Saving Surgery
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson has long been criticized for her weight. Some people are just cruel while others are genuinely concerned about the sixteen-year-old. It seems that she is truly ready to take matters into her own hands. With the support of her close family, the reality star is apparently undergoing life-saving surgery before it’s too late.
Alana Thompson, Too Much Too Soon
When Here Comes Honey Boo Boo premiered, the eating habits of Alana’s family were subpar. Her mother, Mama June Shannon was not big on nutritious meals. In fact, she struggled with her weight while Alana’s older sister, Jessica was affectionately called “Chubbs.” Once the series was canceled, June underwent a full-body transformation. She received a gastric sleeve as well as a tummy tuck. This whole process helped spawn Mama June: From Not to Hot.
Fans saw Alana growing into a teenager but food and weight issues still continued. After June and her boyfriend, Geno Doak got heavy into drugs, Alana went to live with her sister Pumpkin. She tried to enforce a healthier way of eating but that was smashed when June was released from rehab. Along with Geno, the two had been arrested, went to rehab, and gotten sober. The couple had gained a considerable amount of weight. They would take Alana out to eat a plethora of junk and she would openly say that this went against Pumpkin’s healthy diet.
June claimed the food was her way of showing love but Alana was being tested for diabetes. Fortunately, she came back negative but she really needed to start eating healthier. Her lifestyle had to drastically change but no matter what she did, it seemingly has not helped. Finally, she is taking action and has the support of everyone.
A Life-Saving Procedure
Earlier in the year, Alana Thompson and her sisters Pumpkin and Jessica did a body-positive photo shoot. However, Alana shared that she wished she had a flatter stomach. Now, it seems she may be getting her wish. According to TMZ, the former pageant gal will be receiving a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve. This will occur a little after she turns seventeen in August. For the procedure, she will travel to Queens, according to her manager Gina Rodriguez.
The estimated cost is around 13K but she is not alone. Her boyfriend of over a year, Dralin Carswell, is also joining Alana in getting the sleeve. Currently, Alana is allegedly weighing in at 275 pounds which she fears is genetic. The reason for her fears is she has tried dieting and living a better lifestyle but has had little success. As for her sister and legal guardian, Pumpkin, she has signed off on Alana going forth with this. In the end, Alana is hoping to get down to 150 pounds so we are cheering for her success.

I have think that it’s great that Alana and her bf are taking this journey together. Everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin. I wish them luck.
I hope they give her some psychological treatment You have to accept not eating food that isn’t good for you like, fries, cakes , candy, soda and all fattening foods. This is a lifetime commitment and she is young yet. She has plenty of time to lose it naturally before she commits to this drastic measure.
