‘Sister Wives’: Pregnant Mykelti Padron Hurting For Cash?
Sister Wives is still in the process of filming Season 17. It appears Mykelti Padron will be a part of it even though she is pregnant with twins. Right now, there are a lot of questions as to how this will play into the season. This is her second pregnancy yet Season 16 left off with the baby shower for her first child. Usually, the series is about a year or so behind so the logistics will be interesting. In any case, with Mykelti suddenly actively filming, fans are wondering what is really going on. Is the soon-to-be mother of three trying to keep her family close this time around? Or is she secretly hurting for cash?
Mykelti Leaves Her Mark On Sister Wives
Viewers first met Mykelti when she was just a teenager. It was an interesting dynamic as she was one of twelve children from a plural family. At the time, her mother Christine was the third wife of Kody Brown. Christine was expecting her sixth child while Kody was pursuing his fourth wife. Additionally, the original three wives, all of their kids, and Kody all lived under one roof in Utah so there was a true sense of family. They worked and played together but as time went on, life got scary. The Browns feared their lifestyle would land Kody in jail so they escaped to Vegas.
Mykelti dreamed of a career in fashion and then, not long after sister Maddie got engaged, she met Tony Padron. A banker, the two had a whirlwind courtship. It was so fast that her parents were hesitant to give him her hand but they reluctantly said yes. By the end of 2016, the two had an eclectic, Mexican-infused wedding complete with tacos, sneakers, and pinatas. Fans questioned Tony as he started out as a banker but left it for a career in gaming. By 2020, the two revealed that they were expecting their first child and in April 2021, Avalon Asa was born. However, more was on the horizon.
Back For More, But Why?
Season 17 of Sister Wives has been filming pretty much since the finale in February/March. A lot has happened since then, one big thing is the announcement that Mykelti is pregnant again. This time she is expecting twins. Since the show is usually a year or so behind, it is unsure how they are working this season. There will either be a time jump or they are stockpiling footage. In any case, Mykelti did not appear much last season, probably three quick times. First to share she was pregnant, second for the gender reveal, and third for the baby shower. Recently, she shared she was on her way from Utah to Flagstaff to film. So, why would she drive to Flagstaff in the hot summer while pregnant with twins to film?
Some fans are suspecting this is for the money. It was questioned recently how Mykelti and Tony would be able to afford their three babies. She promotes an MLM and he is apparently still in the video game industry. Upon learning that Mykelti had been filming, a fan commented: “she must be desperate for money.” It is unclear how much TLC pays the Brown kids for their appearances. Regardless, it will be interesting to see the role she plays when the show does return.

I read last year that Mykelti’s birth of Avalon was being filmed. I’m betting that’s around when the Season 17 will begin. Whether or not they bring it up to her recent pregnancy with twins–remains to be seen. As for whether they need the money, who doesn’t??
