Artem Chigvintsev & Nikki Bella Face A Major Parenting Challenge
Dancing With The Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev and WWE superstar Nikki Bella have been happily engaged for a number of years. They also have a baby boy together who will be two years old on July 31. And although they have a wonderful little family, they’re still learning a lot about parenting as they go.
Artem and Nikki took their son Matteo on a fun summer outing over the holiday weekend. But unfortunately, things didn’t go quite according to plan. Keep reading to find out more.
Artem Chigvintsev & Nikki Bella’s son wasn’t well during a family vacation
Nikki and her twin sister Brie Bella reminisced on their recent family outing on The Bellas Podcast. Brie’s husband Bryan Danielson joined them for the episode.
Although the family really enjoyed spending time together at Lake Tahoe, Matteo came down with a stomach bug. His parents were really concerned for their little boy.
“My poor baby boy,” Nikki said on the podcast. She revealed that Matteo got sick not long after they arrived at the lake. “This has been the biggest challenge yet as a mom. It makes you so emotional and you break down. Like we’re having so much fun [on vacation], why did this have to happen?” says Nikki. “But to see your little one in so much pain, and you can’t do anything…”
Brie chimed in and said it wouldn’t be the last time it happened either. She and Bryan are the parents of five-year-old Birdie and Buddy, who will be two years old on August 1.
Fortunately, Nikki revealed on Instagram that Matteo managed to feel better by the last day of the trip. There are several photos of the little boy on her Instagram page playing in the sand and sun.
Artem is pretty quiet on social media, but he was likely just as concerned as Nikki.
Will the power couple expand their family?
On The Bellas Podcast, Nikki and Brie discuss a wide range of topics. Recently, they also discussed the possibility of Nikki and Artem having another baby.
“We got in a big, detailed conversation about it. Because I was like, ‘You know, I do have baby fever, but I don’t know. Is right now right? Maybe do you want to try for a girl?’ And actually, Artem was like, ‘We need to wait,’” Nikki said during an episode of The Bellas Podcast. She went on to say that Dancing With The Stars is also a factor. Artem will probably return to the ballroom in the fall and won’t be at home as often.
So it seems like the couple is fine with one child for now. But that could very well change down the road.
