‘My 600-Lb. Life’: Laura Perez Has Huge Transformation, See Her Today
We’ve seen many different people appear on My 600-Lb. Life over the years. Some are successful with their weight loss journeys and others aren’t. But what happened to Season 3 contestant Laura Perez in 2022?

Laura Perez was an incredibly hard worker during her time on the show
When we first met Laura back in Season 3, she weighed in at 594.6 pounds — just shy of 600. However, she put in the time, effort, and hard work. By the end of her episode, she managed to slim down to 357.8 pounds. But was she able to keep up the healthy lifestyle after all these years?
Like many of the TLC show’s guests, Laura was the victim of horrific abuse in her childhood. She turned to food to cope with the difficult feelings that came alongside the abuse. Over time, it developed into an addiction. Laura developed serious health issues as a result of her size.
Reality Tidbit reports that during a follow-up, Laura managed to lose around 50% of her initial weight and even qualified for skin removal surgery. This is often the final step for My 600-Lb. Life guests on their weight loss journey.
Unfortunately, Laura’s marriage declined during her journey, and she and her husband Joey split. She’s now reportedly moved on and is a mother to two children.
And that’s not all — she weighs 182 pounds today. It’s clear that Laura Perez absolutely smashed her goals!
Fans agree that she looks much healthier and happier than she did during her initial Season 3 episode. Losing 400 pounds isn’t an easy task, but Laura managed to make it happen and improve her life.
Focused on the future and moving forward
As we noted above, Laura’s marriage to Joey just didn’t work out. Laura said that as she became more successful on her weight loss journey, Joey grew jealous. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common trend on the show. When the heavier partner gains independence, the other partner sometimes feels like they don’t have a place in the relationship any longer.
Although Joey and Laura aren’t together any longer, it seems like it was for the best. Laura definitely moved on and continues to improve her life.
