Sharna Burgess Shows Support For Maks Chmerkovskiy, Ukrainian People
DWTS pro Sharna Burgess is eagerly expecting the birth of her first child. However, she’s also keenly aware of the growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia at the moment.
Her former DWTS castmate Maks Chmerkovskiy just made it back to Los Angeles after being trapped in Ukraine for a week after the Russian invasion. Sharna has a lot on her plate right now, but she’s not too busy to express gratitude about Maks’ safe return.
Sharna Burgess wants to raise awareness to help her friends and the Ukrainian people
If you’ve been following Maks Chmerkovskiy on Instagram, then you know he had a really tough week. He was in Ukraine on a business trip when the invasion happened. After that, escaping was nearly impossible. He did eventually make it on a train to Poland. From there, he managed to get a flight back to the United States and reunite with his wife Peta Murgatroyd.
Sharna and Peta have been friends for a number of years from their time on DWTS.
During his grand escape, he kept fans, friends, and family members updated on his Instagram channel. Sharna Burgess reposted many of Maks’ updates in her own story and added praying hands to indicate her thoughts were with him.
But now that Maks is safe at home with his family, Sharna has not stopped thinking of him or the Ukrainian people.
“Current me is really looking forward to the day that Ukraine is no longer at war, and innocent people aren’t dying. Sending love and strength to everyone, please stay present, and please donate if you can,” the Season 27 champion captioned an Instagram video.
Since then, Sharna has continued to post resources for fans to help the Ukrainian people.
Maks Chmerkovskiy’s younger brother Val recently called out people that weren’t speaking out about the Ukrainian crisis. But undoubtedly, the brothers are thankful for Sharna and others who are showing their support.
The Season 27 champion is going to have a son this summer
As the crisis in Ukraine continues, Sharna is also thinking about her pregnancy. She and her boyfriend Brian Austin Green are expecting a baby boy in July. Even though the world is a little chaotic right now, she’s very excited to bring a new life into the world.
“Pregnancy is a trip,” Sharna shared with fans on her Instagram page, as reported by Us Weekly. “There are so many things that have happened … where I’m just like, ‘Whoa. What is that?’ For example — this is real girl talk — I had been on the small side of a B cup my whole life. I am already busting out of a D cup and am a little concerned for when July comes and milk happens.”
