Tensions are definitely flying high for some Dancing With The Stars pros right now. As the crisis in Ukraine escalates, Val Chmerkovskiy is calling out his Russian-born castmates.

Right now, Val’s older brother Maks Chmerkovskiy is trapped in Ukraine and is looking for a way back to the United States. It makes sense that Val is upset and emotional at the moment. But the callout he directed towards his fellow DWTS costars could potentially sour his relationship with them for good.

Val Chmerkovskiy is angry with his DWTS teammates for staying silent

Earlier in the week, Val revealed on Instagram that he would probably be fighting on the front lines if his family hadn’t immigrated to the United States. But now, war has come to his native country and he feels very strongly about the situation, as anyone would.

To make matters worse, the entire family is worried about Maks as he tries to escape. Maks revealed that he was arrested, but is hopefully going to make it back to the United States very soon.

In the meantime, Val has some choice words for his fellow Dancing With The Stars costars.

In case you didn’t realize it, many members of the pro dancing team are Russian. A lot of them have dual citizenship or left Russia when they were very young. But since they’re on tour right now, a lot of them haven’t said much about the crisis at all.

And that does not sit well with Val at all.

“It’s very revealing … that you aren’t Russian or Ukrainian or Belarusian. You aren’t the mighty Eastern Europeans I always were proud to be identified with because of your principles and work ethic,” Val addressed in his pointed Instagram post. “Your toughness alongside your intellect and price. To all my Russian speaking friends that are quietly continuing to stay in your lane ignoring what’s happening, you aren’t any of the above, you are spineless little b******. And I will remind you of that next time we line up on that dance floor.”

When Season 30 wrapped up, Val said he might not return for Season 31. If he does return, tensions are definitely going to be high.

The Russian dancers seem to keep to themselves these days

DWTS pro dancers Artem Chigvintsev, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, and Sasha Farber were all born in Russia. Sasha did move to Australia as a child, but the other three men all grew up and Russia and lived there for a number of years. And so far, they’ve all been quiet about the Russian invasion.

It’s unclear how close Val is with the rest of the Russian-speaking dancers. But Maks has posted photos of himself hanging out with them on occasion.
