‘Love Is Blind’ Season 2: Is Shaina The New Jessica?
Most of Love Is Blind Season 2 is now available for viewing on Netflix. The season finale will premiere this Friday and we’ll see whether the couples say “I do” or “I don’t.”
But fans of the hit dating show can’t help but draw a few parallels between Jessica Batten from Season 1 and Shaina Hurley from Season 2. Was this something you also noticed as you watched this year?

Love Is Blind Season 2 viewers aren’t thrilled with Shaina Hurley
We’re not seeing much of Shaina on Love Is Blind these days. She and Kyle ended their engagement after he met Shaina’s family, so there’s no reason for the film crews to follow them any longer.
Love Is Blind fans knew Shaina and Kyle weren’t going to work for a wide variety of reasons. Most notably, Shaina is very secure in her faith and Kyle is an atheist. He was willing to work through their religious differences, but she wasn’t so sure.
Their engagement sparked a lot of confusion from fans. Even Bachelorette star Katie Thurston tweeted about it at the time.

It was clear from their time in the pods that Shaina didn’t really want to accept Kyle’s engagement — she wanted Shayne instead. But Shayne proposed to Natalie, so Shaina reluctantly tried to make it work with Kyle.
And this is exactly what Jessica did to her fiance Mark in Love Is Blind Season 1. At least Shaina had the good sense to break things off before they actually got to the altar.
Overall, fans online just don’t seem to be impressed with Shaina’s behavior. Several tolerated her for a while, but had enough of her after she awkwardly confronted Shayne and said his relationship with Natalie was “comical.”

Even Shaina’s ex sees the comparison to Jessica Batten
If you think Shaina Hurley is the new Jessica Batten, you aren’t the only one. Even Shaina’s ex Kyle saw it.
ET caught up with Kyle and managed to catch his side of the story. And he thinks it’s awesome that Love Is Blind fans are comparing Jessica and Shaina.
“I’m like, ‘This is hilarious.’ The stories are so similar, but I embraced it,” Kyle told ET. “I’m like, ‘That’s how it went.’ It was a slug fest for her, though. I felt like it was a lot of hatred towards her.”
