Katie Thurston creates Instagram for beloved cat
Katie Thurston may be in love with former contestant John Hersey, but no one will take the place of her first love. Her cat, Tommy, makes regular appearances on the reality star’s Instagram. In fact, he’s so popular and loved by all that Thurston decided he needed his own page.
The Bachelorette alum created the fan account for her cat in February of 2022, Us Weekly reports. So far, the page only has one photo of Tommy and Hersey’s dog Dexter. There’s also a video of a very vocal Tommy demanding food. Follow Tommy and Dexter Instagram here.
Katie Thurston reacts to Love Is Blind engagement
The Bachelor and Bachelorette may be the OGs of reality dating competitions, but Netflix is slowly gaining on the ABC franchise. The streaming giant has had success with Too Hot To Handle and Love Is Blind.
Season 2 of the latter just dropped on Netflix and it’s already causing a stir. The premise of the show is similar to speed dating, with a twist that the contestants can’t see each other. However, marriage proposals can be made at any time, not just in the season finale like on Bachelor.
Fans already saw an engagement in the second episode of Love Is Blind Season 2. Kyle Abrams proposed to Shaina Hurley on the Netflix reality show and Katie Thurston has some feelings.
She took to her Twitter to ask if she’s supposed to be excited about the engagement.
Thurston elaborated in another tweet that the engagement left her “speechless and not in a good way.”
The engagement may not last long. Us Weekly reveals that Shaina has feelings for another contestant.
Fan compares Netflix show to Bachelorette
One Bachelor Nation fan replied to Katie’s tweet that they, too, were confused by the quick engagement. However, the Twitter user made it clear they meant Katie’s engagement to Blake Moynes.
“i’m sorry ily but this is how i felt about yours,” the follower wrote to Katie.
Surprisingly, Katie Thurston brushed the diss off, replying “Fair enough” with laughing emojis.

After getting backlash from Thurston’s followers, the original commenter cleared the air. “I love katie for being a girl that can take a playful roast,” they wrote.
