Sleuthers are waiting to hear news on a new Hallmark Mystery 101 movie. The last one left them hanging a lot, so what is the wait?

Turns out, there are many reasons why there is a delay.

When Are They Filming Next Hallmark Mystery 101?

Sleuthers are chomping at the bit. When is Hallmark making the next Mystery 101 movie? Currently, there is no word on what their plans are.

When a fan asked Jill Wagner on Instagram if there will be more episodes, Wagner had replied “I hope so.”

When Polaha was promoting A Dickens Of A Holiday, he was also asked. He did not know. However, he did say that the ratings were good, and the series did well internationally.

When the screenwriter John Christian Plummer was on the Deck The Hallmark podcast, he revealed he had a screenplay ready.

However, even if Hallmark gives another episode the green light it may be a while until another episode is filmed. That is because the stars of the series are in high demand.

Jill Wagner Working With Yellowstone Creator

Perhaps the biggest reason that there could be a delay in filming the Hallmark mystery is Jill Wagner. She is currently co-creating a new series, Lioness, with Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan.

She is working out to get into tiptop shape to play in this thrilling series. In addition, she is going to be doing a lot of different things for this series, so much that her entire 2022 is about Lioness.

Late in 2021, she told The List, “My next year is going to be pretty, pretty packed.”

Now that Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman are interested in starring in this series, this year may also be very high profile.

Kristoffer Polaha In Upcoming Lifetime, Not Hallmark Movie

Jill Wagner is not the only Hallmark Mystery 101 star with a lot on their plate. Kristoffer Polaha is going to be in a highly anticipated Lifetime movie, Barstow, along with Angie Harmon. This looks to be one of many movies in a series, assuming the first is a success.

According to Deadline, Harmon portrays Hazel King, who as a 15-year-old, was “plucked off the streets” to become an elite hit woman. After a “surprising” pregnancy, she moves on.

Now, she lives in Barstow with her teenage daughter. However, her past has caught up with her and she needs one last hit to allow her to lead her life quietly again.

Polaha portrays Elliot. However, not much more is revealed about his character, except that he will be showing his “bum” in a scene. We are not in Hallmark world here!

Don’t forget that Kristoffer is also in the upcoming Jurassic World. He has repeatedly revealed he has a small role that pops up throughout the movie.

Hallmark Mystery 101 Writer’s New Mystery

Perhaps Sleuthers need to do a bit more investigating in Hallmark Mystery 101 screenwriter John Christian Plummer’s IMDb.

He is listed as one of the writers for an upcoming mystery, Dying For Chocolate: A Curious Caterer Mystery. Based on the IMDb, this movie is in pre-production. However, it is set to be released on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

The director is Anthony C. Metchie, who was the cinematographer for such movies as North To Home, and A Dickens Of A Holiday. This new mystery would be Metchie’s directorial debut.

In addition, there is no information on actors or anyone else attached to this project.

Hallmark has officially canceled the Hailey Dean Mystery series, as well as The Picture Perfect series. They have been seriously evaluating their entire list of signature mysteries.

Thankfully, Mystery 101 has good ratings. However, these days Jill Wagner and Kristoffer Polaha are hot commodities. It is anyone’s guess when the next movie will be filmed, and when Hallmark will premiere it.

    1. Please don’t cancel Mystery101. Both stars have a wonderful rapour and the mysteries are well worth our time. It would be a travesty to end this series. Hallmark mystery movies have not been consistant over the past few years and Hallmark needs Mystery 101. I hope someone from Hallmark is reading these threads. Thank you.

  1. One of the best series Mystery 101 movies. Love the actors, love the storeylines. So enjoyable. I like these movies with same characters, murder mysteries. Hope they are bringing them back. Not crazy about the single love story movies.

  2. I love this series. Jill & Christopher work so well together. Looking forward to a new series. Mary-Baltimore.

  3. The last movie had a good ending if there were to be no more. They shouldn’t have shown the teaser preview if it wasn’t already scheduled and “set in stone”. That was a bad decision and hopefully won’t make that same mistake with any other series. Nothing causes the loss of future viewers more than channels choosing to leave cliffhangers unfinished. Hopefully they get the next in the series scheduled soon.

  4. I watched all 7 episodes in an afternoon…the combination of actors exceptionally good. Whoever planned the show might not have anticipated viewers reaction in relation to actors availability to film more product..I imagine pairings are being tested for new series which I hope will have the same chemistry.

  5. This is one of the best Hallmark series. The actors work so well together, they are each made for these characters.
Please do not cancel this show.

  6. Please keep Mystery 101. There are so many extremely violent and dirty language on other shows and channels. These 2 are great in this series. Please continue.
