‘Yellowstone’ Creator, Hallmark’s Jill Wagner Working On ‘Lioness’ Series
Hallmark fan favorite, Jill Wagner is pairing up with Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan, for a new series called Lioness.
This is a potentially career-changing opportunity for Wagner. As for Sheridan, this female-driven series is a political thriller that seems very different from his Yellowstone franchise.

Jill Wagner Is Working With Yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan
Hallmark star Jill Wagner is both starring and producing a new series, along with Taylor Sheridan. This is the Paramount Plus spy drama called Lioness.
What Is Lioness About?
Jill Wagner is risking it all to start in Lioness. What is this new series about? According to Deadline, it is based on a “real-life CIA program.”
This is the story of a young Marine. They are recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist. The intention is to get inside and take down the organization.
Jill Wagner Working Out Hard For Lioness
In early December, Jill Wagner posted on social media why she is working out so hard for this role. She had started training for this series in 2020, but she became pregnant.
However, she just had her second baby on August 19. Therefore, she began to seriously get super-fit in October.
She also shared that she does not consider herself a name actor, and that Lioness is an unbelievable career opportunity. She wants to prove to them that she is serious about this role by preparing. Hard.
Here is just part of her Instagram statement. “Some of you ask me why I am pushing myself so hard in the gym. Here’s the reason why. I am an actor. It is my job to portray a character to the best of my ability. I have the opportunity of a lifetime coming up next year with my project “Lioness.” I believe that I have a lot to prove to the people running the show. I am not a major famous actor that can just walk in the room and impress people with my credits.”
The Hallmark star knows that this role will require a lot of physicalities. Creators like Taylor Sheridan want as much authenticity as possible. However, Wagner seems prepared for a very intense experience.
Anyone who has been paying attention to Faith Hill’s requirement to stay authentic to the time of Yellowstone: 1883 knows that she had to wear a corset while riding a horse, and had to find a tree to do her business outside as they did in the old days.
When Is Lioness Coming Out?
Currently, there is no information on when Paramount Plus will release Lioness. Filming has not yet begun. Right now, only Jill Wagner is slated to star in the new series.
Moreover, there is no information on whether they will do a pilot episode before Paramount Plus agrees to sign off for more, or if this will go straight to series.
However, as Taylor Sheridan’s name is attached to Lioness, the odds are good that this series is going to happen. That is because Yellowstone is the hottest commodity on television right now.
Everyone loves what Sheridan is doing and although Lioness is not a spinoff, it will likely be well-written, authentic, and fans will gobble it up just like all of his other projects.
