‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Source Reveals Tammy Slaton’s Pitiful TLC Pay
Tammy Slaton may be a reality TV star, but it appears that she might not be fairly compensated for her time on the show.
According to new reports, Tammy and her family members do not make nearly as much as other reality TV families. Rumors are currently going around that the entire family is demanding more money from the network. Will TLC step up and meet their demands?
Tammy Slaton reportedly isn’t making enough to cover expenses
For years, TLC viewers have suspected that the network exploits some of its stars. And it seems like the 1000-Lb Sisters family is struggling to get the fair compensation they deserve.
According to rumors, TLC is actually trying to send the family to Greece instead of giving the cast a pay raise. Sources report that this isn’t going over well with Tammy Slaton and her family members.
Fans are incredibly thankful that Tammy has completed rehab after 14 months. But it’s going to be incredibly hard for her to get back on her feet if she doesn’t have a higher income.
The Sun reports that an insider told them that Tammy only makes between $2,000 and $3,000 per episode. To make matters worse, she’s about the highest-paid member of the family. Only Amy Halterman makes more money and that’s because both her sons have TLC contracts as well. However, Gage and Glenn’s earnings go to a college fund. Amy doesn’t keep that money.
“Tammy’s half-sister Amanda – who joined the cast during season three – only takes in about $700 a month for her appearances on the show,” The Sun continued. The family has also already signed contracts to film Season 4, Part B. Part of their contracts indicates that they can’t pursue any other commercial opportunities while working for TLC.
If something doesn’t change, the family may opt to end their relationship with TLC after their current contracts are up.
The TLC star is on a much better path after rehab
The first three seasons of 1000-Lb Sisters focused on Tammy Slaton’s food addiction and her unwillingness to change. This season, it seems like Tammy really has turned over a new leaf. Reports claim that she’s doing remarkably well after completing rehab. Fans really can’t wait to see that all unfold onscreen.
1000-Lb Sisters Season 4 will be split into two parts. Part A is currently airing on TLC, while Part B is expected to debut later on this year. In the meantime, fans can still follow the family members online to keep up with them. Tammy has even resurfaced on Instagram after nearly a year of silence.
