Erika Jayne Gives Grim Health Update On Husband Tom Girardi

Erika Jayne gave a grim health update on her husband Tom Girardi. Though she filed for divorce in November 2020, the couple is still legally married. She’s been dragged in several of his lawsuits, including the ongoing embezzlement case. His estranged wife has opened up about some of his misdeeds.

Tom quickly fell to the wayside as his legal career came crashing down. He was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has moved into a senior living facility. Tom’s brother has been designated as his conservator during this court battle. Erika recently shared an update on his health and it doesn’t bode well.

Erika Jayne on Tom Girardi’s decline

He’s had a quick decline in such a short amount of time. The former hotshot attorney was known for his quick wit and candor. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star appeared on Watch What Happens Live for the first time in years. Per E! News, Erika Jayne shared an update about her husband’s health.

“Tom lives in a memory care facility,” Erika Jayne said. “I can only say decline and further decline. It will not get better.”

She revealed that he isn’t aware of the legal battle. Host Andy Cohen asked her if the former lawyer understood “that the chickens have come to roost.” Erika Jayne shared that he’s not cognitive. The now disbarred lawyer still thinks he works at his legal practice.

The former married couple has still kept in touch, even after the divorce proceeding. However, their conversations don’t last as long these days. When Tom calls her, “It lasts about five seconds,” she admitted.

Erika wishes that people would reach out to her about the situation. She doesn’t appreciate it when people go behind her back. She recalled a conversation she once shared with The Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley. Dorinda’s husband passed away in 2011.

“Long before any of this had ever happened, she told me about when her husband died and no one contacted her,” Erika Jayne explained. “And I kind of feel the same way. Tom’s not dead, yet legally he is dead, as ugly as that sounds.”

Andy noted that Dorinda’s late husband “was not a Bernie Madoff type.” At first, Erika Jayne seemingly defended Tom. She said that the investigation is still ongoing. She then backtracked and said that she was only focusing on herself.

“I’m not defending him, but I’m also taking care of myself at the same time,” Erika Jayne said. “I saw Tom do a lot of good things for people so you think some of those people perhaps would be like, ‘Hey, Erika, how are you doing?’ but that has not happened.”

The reality star revealed that The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss reached out to her. She didn’t want to reveal any more names. Erika said there were others in the Bravo family who also reached out.

“When I think about the women that reached out to me during this really dark moment in my life — and I really appreciate it, I really do — those are the women that come to mind.”
