Erika Jayne opened up about her divorce and embezzlement case. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star admits that she’s in the “darkest” time of her life. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, the state of Illinois dismissed her from the case. However, the case is ongoing in her home state of California.

The Bravo star has been dragged into her ex-husband Thomas Girardi’s ongoing legal battles ever since she filed for divorce in November 2020. She shocked fans when she split from the hotshot attorney. However, Erika claims that she was not aware of his business dealings.

RHOBH star says she’s in the “darkest” time in her life

Erika Jayne told E! News that she’s not having fun. She calls the ongoing embezzlement case the “darkest” time in her life. Erika doesn’t want to be dragged into this mess, nor does she want the attention on her. Rather, she wishes the focus was on her ex and those who are involved. She referred to Thomas’ former law firm, Girardi & Keese.

“You know, when they can’t get to that man, then they turn to his partner. And that’s what I think has happened,” Erika Jayne told E! News’ Justin Sylvester on the Friday, February 11 episode of Daily Pop. “I think that I have taken a lot of the attention that should be for other people. Other people, not just person, people. I’ve been the whipping girl for a lot of people and I’ve taken the beating in the public when others should be.”

The reality star doesn’t think anyone would have heard about her ex’s financial issues if it weren’t for her career and divorce filing. She has a good feeling that it would’ve otherwise gone away. Erika believes that the story only blew up because she’s on a reality series. She thinks people are after her because of what she does for a living.

Erika Jayne claims she had a change of heart

Erika Jayne says she’s changed since the embezzlement drama happened. Fans saw her go through it in Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She had a hard time dealing with the constant questions from her castmates. However, she stayed to the very end of the season. The Pretty Mess author claims she was just dealing with her emotions.

“This has been the darkest part of my life,” Erika Jayne said. “Just the most desperate, most afraid I’ve ever been in my life. Most unsure, most volatile. I’ve been angry, I’ve been sad, I’ve been happy, I’ve been everything. And it’s really challenged me to my core.”

The original lawsuit accused the former couple of embezzling $2 million made to the victims of the Boeing 737 airplane crash. The funds were made to Illinois-based plaintiffs whose family members were among the victims. Erika wants to move on from this aspect of her life. She hopes that RHOBH Season 12 will focus on her new ventures and dating life.
