According to a new report via The Sun, the fired American Pickers host “barely visits” his Illinois-based antique store, which is “going downhill.” The History Channel fired the 58-year-old as he recovered from back surgery. At the time, Frank Fritz was taking time off to recover from the grueling surgery.

He owns the antique shop called Frank Fritz Finds. However, it hasn’t been doing well. The reality star is no longer involved with his business. His business could close if he doesn’t take care of it.

“He doesn’t come here often,” an insider told The Sun. “He really only stops by when he’s dropping off new items.”

The new merchandise doesn’t help since the business is going “downhill.” Customers have complained about the store layout, lack of items, among other things. American Pickers fans hoped to find some gold in this antique shop. Yet, most of the reviews on Google and Yelp are negative.

Still, the American Pickers fanbase is a dedicated one. Many of them support Frank Fritz no matter what. One customer wrote: “Awesome place Frank Fritz is the man.” Others were happy with their findings. They loved that it has “oddball stuff.”

Former American Pickers star dealing with tax issues

This comes amid Frank’s financial problems and tax issues. After his American Pickers firing, he’s been struggling to pay his property taxes. He’s been hiding out in Illinois ever since. No one has spotted Frank since his firing.

He last appeared on American Pickers in a March 2020 episode. He underwent back surgery that left him with 185 stitches and two rods in his spine. Frank also lost 65 pounds from his new healthy lifestyle. He entered rehab for alcohol addiction at an Iowa facility for 77 days.

Fans are hoping that Frank is still doing well. They would love to see him return to the show. It would give a big boost to the series and Frank’s wallet. It would be a win-win for everyone involved.
