American Pickers alum Frank Fritz is having financial problems. The former host of the History Channel show slipped into debt after his termination. The network fired him in July 2021 amid his feud with Mike Wolfe. At the time, he was recovering from major back surgery.

It’s unclear why the network terminated him. Frank has since lost weight and turned his life around. He even gave up drinking. However, he’s struggling to pay off his debts. The 58-year-old lost his hosting gig after he took time off from the series to recover from his back surgery.

Frank Fritz is experiencing financial problems

Per The Sun, the former host of American Pickers is not doing well financially. Frank can’t pay off his $5,000 in property taxes on his $155,000 Iowa farmhouse. The 58-year-old missed his payments on September 1, 2021, and March 2, 2022. This made the debt increase to $3,402, according to the Scott County Treasurer’s Office.

The American Pickers fan-favorite purchased the house for $130,000 on May 14, 2010. However, that’s not his only financial problem. Frank purchased another property in 2013 for $25,000. He also missed those payments for September 1, 2021, and March 2, 2022. He owes $1,636 on those taxes.

The grand total in property tax debt has reached $5,038. The 1,660 square-foot house in Iowa is situated on .79 acres of land. It features a barn, basement, three garages, and a shed. He renovated the home the minute he purchased it.

Since his firing from American Pickers, he’s fallen behind on his payments. Fans are hoping this won’t cause him great distress since he’s become sober.

Frank last appeared on the show in a March 2020 episode. He took time off to recover from back surgery. Frank was left with 185 stitches and two rods in his spine. Frank lost 65 pounds and has embraced a healthier lifestyle.

Axed from American Pickers

Mike Wolfe was the one who revealed that Frank was fired from American Pickers. At the time, he took to Instagram to share the news with fans. Despite their feud, he wished him the best with his life. Mike admitted that the two went through their share of “highs and lows.”

“The support that you all have given us has been a constant reminder of what the show’s message has always been; thru these places, people, and things we all have a common thread. We’re here to not only take care of the past, but also each other,” the American Pickers star wrote on Instagram. “I will miss Frank, just like all of you, and I pray for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.”
