‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Secretly Helping Children
The View host Whoopi Goldberg can get heated and passionate on the daytime talk show. But has an unexpected soft spot for kids. She opened up about the sweet way she anonymously helps children. Keep reading for all the details.
The View Takes Extended Break
The View returned for Season 29 in September after weeks of rumors ABC was planning to cancel the show. The show went on summer break earlier than expected, which only fueled the rumors. The popular talk show wasn’t canceled. However, fans were disappointed earlier this month to find out that the show was going on a long hiatus around the holidays.

The talk show returns in early January with new episodes. Fans took to social media to share what changes they would like to see when the show returns in the new year. One fan wrote, “They get rid of the daily view your deals segment.” Viewers are tired of the show constantly trying to sell things to the audience.
Another viewer wants “Less monologues, more conversations.” A third fan suggested, “Less Whoopi moderating, more Joy moderating.” Unfortunately for that viewer, Whoopi Goldberg recently returned for a two-week break to film a soap opera overseas. Neither she or ABC has given any indication of handing over moderating to Joy Behar full-time.

Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Helping Children Anonymously
Whoopi Goldberg recently became a great-grandma for the second time. It surprised a lot of fans, who didn’t even know she had children. The View host shares one child with her first ex-husband, Alvin Martin. It turns out the actress has a huge soft spot for kids and loves to help them anonymously.
She made an appearance on the Behind the Table podcast hosted by the show’s executive producer, Brian Teta, a few weeks before Christmas. Whoopi Goldberg revealed how she helps spread Christmas cheer to kids anonymously at the most unexpected location: The post office.
“I just feel like everybody needs a little help, and if you can help somebody… It’s why I try to do Santa at the post office. I try to get letters and we try to answer kids’ letters to Santa,” Whoopi Goldberg revealed. Brian Teta said it’s a “great thing” she does without people knowing.
The View host responded, “It’s a thing we can do, and it doesn’t cost a lot. Because you want to give people the ability to do something that brings up how they see themselves.”
Letters to Santa don’t, of course, go to the North Pole. A dedicated team of volunteers, including postal workers, answers the missives as much as they can. Fans of The View might be surprised to find out that Whoopi Goldberg is Santa’s secret helper around the holidays. Share your reaction to the revelation in the comments.
