Mississippi Couple Kept 6-Year-Old Captive With Dead Sister After Murdering Mother
In a gruesome story out of Mississippi, worse than any horror movie plot, a couple kept a 6-year-old girl captive in a pit with her dead sister after murdering their mother. Making matters even worse, the young girl was kept as the man’s “sex slave.” What else do we know about this horrific situation?
Sometimes Real Life Is Worse Than Any Horror Movie Plot
Horror is one of the most popular genres out there. In recent years, films like Get Out and Barbarian have captured public attention for their unsettling storytelling. Sometimes, however, events in the real world are far more unsettling than any horror film plot.
This is exactly the case when speaking about a situation that unfolded in Mississippi. According to The Mirror, “Victoria Cox, 34, is accused of assisting a man who killed a woman and kidnapped her two young daughters, killing one of them and keeping the other as his ‘sex slave.'” Cox is also facing charges, including capital murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery for her alleged role in everything that went down.
The man, Daniel Callihan, has already pleaded guilty to federal charges. He admitted to killing 35-year-old Callie Brunett, as well as kidnapping her two young daughters from Louisiana. If this were not bad enough, in addition to murdering the mother and one of the young daughters, they kept the other one in a pit as Callihan’s “sex slave.”

Woman Offered A Plea Deal?
According to the latest from this gruesome situation, Victoria Cox was offered a plea deal during a recent court appearance. The Mirror went on to add, “Cox is facing charges of capital murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery for her alleged role in the abduction of two girls and the murder of one. Callihan said in the factual basis he signed that he and Cox engaged in criminal sexual activity with the 6-year-old victim, after which he murdered her 4-year-old sister ‘by holding [her] closely against his chest.'”
According to authorities, the 6-year-old was discovered in a “dirt pit,” where she was kept, along with the body of her deceased sister. It turns out, Cox avoided federal charges because all of her alleged crimes were committed in Mississippi. In addition to this, she also agreed to testify at Callihan’s federal trial.
The Mirror went on to note, “Her trial is set to begin on Dec. 8 in Mississippi if she chooses not to accept the plea deal. Sentencing for Callihan’s federal offenses is set for Nov. 19. Federal prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty against him if he agreed to plead guilty to all charges.”
