Girl, 8, Murdered By Family To Keep Silent
Secrets can literally kill, and that was the case with an eight-year-old girl based in Turkey. Back in August 2024, Narin Güran was attending her Quran class when she went missing. No one knew what happened to her, or so they claimed, but a deadly discovery was made nineteen days later. Those who were looking for her found her body between rocks, and inside a sealed bag. That was terrifying to know that someone could do that to her, but it was not just one person. They reviewed the camera footage and learned that she was killed in her own home by family members.
To make it all the more sick and twisted, other family members watched as she succumbed to death. After her alleged time of death, household utility usage climbed at an incredible rate. This led authorities to believe the family was covering up for something. As it turned out, Narin died by “asphyxiation after closure of the mouth and nose with pressure to the neck,” per Istanbul’s Forensic Medicine Institute. Ultimately, Narin’s mother and brother were arrested for murder. As for the rest of her family, they were being taken in for other charges.
Narin’s uncle’s car was linked to her disappearance. So, why would Salim Güran feel the need to harm Narin? As it turns out, his niece knew that he had met with sex workers. Therefore, he needed to keep her quiet, but there was one more issue. Narin supposedly caught her mother and her uncle together, so she knew too much. In the end, a neighbor did not assist with the murder but did get rid of her body. The uncle, brother, and mother received life in prison, while the neighbor got four and a half years.
An Uproar
After this happened, followers were in an uproar. They could not believe what had happened, and that it was all to keep Narin silent. More details emerged, and Narin’s father denied that his brother and wife did anything inappropriate. Moreover, he did not believe an affair had transpired, but it is unclear why he was so protective. Other followers believed that there was more to the story and felt awful for the little girl:
