13-Year-Old Boy Gets Struck By Firework In Head
The sad event took place on Monday, September 1. It was Labor Day, and fireworks were sometimes involved in the holiday. It happened at the Sandy Park Apartments in West Tulsa near West 11th Place and South 61st West Avenue. So, at the apartment complex, a group of young boys was setting off fireworks. This is not unusual, but it needed adult supervision in the scenario. The boys even accidentally set a small patch of grass on fire during their shenanigans. This is not out of the blue in Oklahoma, though. So, no one was super shocked. However, it quickly turned for the worse as the boy pointed the mortar towards his head when it ignited. It more than likely happened so quickly that no one could stop the child.
Sadly The Young Child Passed Away From Injuries
The Tulsa Fire Department then showed up at the scene after it exploded on the child’s head. They did try to perform life-saving measures. However, the child was then taken to a local hospital. Sadly, shortly after he arrived at the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. This was heartbreaking news that no one wanted to hear. Prayers are being sent to the family and all the other children who witnessed and were involved in the scene. People are starting to realize that they have to watch their children closely when they are playing with fireworks. No one thought this was going to happen, but it is heartbreaking that it did.
