A surgeon from the United Kingdom has amputated his own legs, but it was allegedly unnecessary. He did not need anything done or cut off, but he had a sexual fetish that warranted it. Neil Hopper was a vascular surgeon, and he conned people into amputating his legs. The sole reason was that it was his kink, and he claimed to have possible sepsis in his feet. Additionally, his feet hurt him, so he went with that to get what he wanted, although it was not needed. Moreover, the doctors who performed the amputation were in the dark about why he wanted to get his legs cut.
They believed that he had a genuine ailment and thought this would make him feel better. Along with that, Neil Hopper committed insurance fraud. Prosecutor Nicholas Lee added this about Neil and why he had his legs amputated:
“His motivations were a combination of obsession with removing parts of his own body and a sexual interest in doing so.”
This was not his only offense and issue, as it was discovered he had purchased a handful of videos. They included men getting their private areas cut off by choice. There was allegedly a market for amputee fetish, and Neil was involved in the ring of it all. This was not a simple video but rather so explicitly off that it caused even more concern.
The woman who helped create and funnel these twisted videos, Marius Gustavson, was in hot water in 2024. She owned and ran the website that had mutilation videos for viewers’ enjoyment, and has since pleaded guilty. As for the surgeon, Neil is now behind bars for his crimes and lies.
A ‘Twisted’ Situation
Followers who learned about the surgeon felt what he did was extremely “twisted.” They could not believe the lengths he went to in order to have his legs amputated. The fact that it was allegedly all for sexual purposes and that he had a vested interest in videos related to the subject was scary:
- This is twisted beyond all imagination, there are people that sometimes have the misfortune of the wrong organ being removed or limb amputated and then there’s this guy in a category of his own making!
- I hope he is a psych ward receiving help. Something is misfireing in his brain. I’m all for kinks and fetishes but they aren’t supposed to cause actual long lasting harm.
In the end, it was not so much that he got his legs amputated, but he committed insurance fraud to obtain this surgery. He scammed the insurance company out of over half a million dollars and that was where he crossed the line.
