Jonathan Knight Getting New HGTV Series After Show Cancellation?

Jonathan Knight

As HGTV fans know, there is never a guarantee that your favorite personalities will remain on the network with their shows. Based on the latest updates making the rounds, is Jonathan Knight getting a new series following his show getting the ax? Here’s everything we know so far.

HGTV Has A Habit Of Cancelling Shows And Disappointing Fans

Without question, HGTV has come a long way as a network since its inception. The network has made celebrities out of home renovators, contractors, and house flippers. Over the last few decades, a lot of people have made names for themselves as part of the HGTV family.

As network fans have seen, however, even popular celebs on the network with huge followings have gotten their shows axed from the network. So, just because these famous faces have had success for a time, it does not mean that the network will always keep them around.

This happened recently with Jonathan Knight. He had his show, Farmhouse Fixer, axed by the network. The show’s focus was on renovating New England farmhouses. Unfortunately, for both fans of the show and Knight, he took to social media to announce that the program would not be getting another season.

Jonathan Knight Back With New Show?

One of the big questions that HGTV fans have following a cancellation like this is wondering what someone like Jonathan Knight might be doing next to occupy his time. Based on the latest updates making the rounds, he recently shared a new idea for a television show that he thinks would be a perfect fit for a network like HGTV.

More specifically, Knight wants to bring a gardening series back to HGTV. According to Knight, while speaking with Country Living, he said, “I’ve always urged the people at HGTV to bring the garden aspect back to HGTV. They say the garden shows don’t do well, but I think if there was a really good one, it would do well.”

In general, he seems to want to shift the focus more to the content of what he has to offer rather than drama. Jonathan went on to describe his overall approach as “just a reality show tagging along with me while I do my daily chores and hopefully teach people things along the way, that would be cool.”

What do you think of Jonathan Knight and his ideas? Do you like his back-to-basics approach, and do you think any of his ideas will get picked up at HGTV? Do any of his new ideas sound like something you would watch? Let us know what you think about this in the comments below.
