‘Swamp People’ Stars React To Heartbreaking Death Of Junior Edwards
Stars of the History Channel series Swamp People have announced the passing of series cast member Junior Edwards. Many of the show’s cast members have also been sharing their tributes to the star. Fans have also been sharing their reactions to the story.
Junior Edwards’ Passing Was Announced By Swamp People Alumni
On the History Channel series, Swamp People, viewers have seen alligator hunters make their living along the Atchafalaya River Basin. As seen on the show, gator hunting is often a family business.
Junior Edwards was seen on the show hunting with his son, Willie Edwards and his friend Malcolm McQuiston. Based in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana, he was featured in the first six, and later twelfth, seasons.
On social media, cast members of the show have announced that Junior had recently passed on. Ashley “Deadeye” Jones took to Instagram, where she shared a photo of herself standing next to Junior. In a caption, Jones wrote, “The world lost a legend! Mr. Junior Edwards passed away! Please be in prayer for the family!”

“He was one of the greatest alligator hunters there is! He was real hardcore outdoorsman! I watched this man bring in MONSTER gators at Duffys Gas Station in Pierre Part LA. This was after a looooong day for both of us and you can tell it! Glad we took a second for a pic!”
Junior’s family has also touched on his passing. Lil Willie Edwards recently took to Facebook to share, “Rest easy pawpaw….i know your probably running your hoop nets or doing something crazy inside those pearly gates…you will be extremely missed pawpaw we love you more than anything!!! Until we meet again.”
Back on July 6, Junior’s grandson had previously asked fans to keep his grandfather in their prayers as he was dealing with health issues. At the time, he shared, “My grandpa has been dealing with some health issues…Y’all keep him in y’all’s thoughts and prayers please…we need a miracle. Get better for us papa we love you!!!”
Fans Have Also Been Sharing Their Reactions To The News
Another series alum, Ronnie Adams, who joined Swamp People in Season 10, also paid homage to Junior. Taking to Facebook, he wrote, “Praying for the Edwards Family!!! May you rest in peace Junior.”
Fans have also been sharing their reactions to Junior’s passing. Many fans also shared that they would keep the family in their prayers, while praising Junior’s work on the show.

- “I’m so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. Junior Edwards was a hell of a man. Not just an amazing alligator hunter and trapper but a family man who took care of his family and provided for them.”
- “We got to meet them in 2012, went to their store and it was at their house and closed. Dad left his number and he called us and invited us back out the next morning to visit. Good people!”
