After news came out that Matt Brown of Alaskan Bush People fame was presumed dead, his brother, Bear, opened up further about the situation in a video on social media. Alaskan Bush People‘s Bear Brown Noted That He Spoke With Locals & Eyewitnesses In A Recent Video
Fans were previously introduced to the Brown family through Alaskan Bush People, which saw them live off the grid in the title state. Matt and Bear are the sons of Ami and the late Billy Brown.
News had previously come out that Matt was seen in an area after an unidentified person was seen in a river. Following this, various media further reported that Matt was presumed dead.

As the video opened up, Bear felt that things have reached past the point of being rumors. He explained that there is only a “small chance” that the person in the witness reports wasn’t him.
Later in the conversation, Bear noted that the body hadn’t been recovered. However, he noted that eyewitness descriptions match up with his brother Matt. However, he still maintained hope that it couldn’t be him, adding that he was still praying about the situation.
As previously reported, videos and social media posts were being shared by Matt after the original story broke. Bear felt that some posts weren’t from his brother, but could be scammers posing as him. He also denied that his brother was on all social media accounts.
Bear shared that he would keep fans updated about the story. As things continued, he noted that there was a dangerous storm in the area which may have impacted the search.
Bear Also Shared A Message For Fans Sharing Negative Comments About What’s Going On
In addition, Bear also denied claims that his family cut off ties with his brother. However, he claimed that Matt distanced himself from the family. Bear himself noted that he had recently spoken with Matt. Ultimately, he also felt that it wasn’t an appropriate time to divulge too much about the story.
Bear also addressed the comments he’s seen on videos sharing updates of the story. He then criticized people who have been sharing negative comments when this concerns a story about someone who “has taken their own life.” Describing the situation as “insane,” he noted that he’s seen these comments on both his and his brother’s videos.

In the video, Bear continued this sentiment, sharing, “I wonder where the kindness has gone in the world.” He added, “People’s words hurt people.” Though he expressed that these comments don’t hurt him directly, he emphasized that there are “other people that it does affect.”
