‘On Patrol: Live’ Deputy Swanger Shares Personal Health & Injury Update

The On Patrol: Live world was shaken when Deputy Dalton Swanger was injured in the line of duty. There were a lot of questions and stories, but it was made clear that his family would be sharing the truth. Now, he has opened up about what happened and how he is doing. Deputy Swanger Shares Health & Injury Update

On Patrol: Live features officers in real-time situations, and some can be terrifying or dangerous. They will go on extensive car chases to catch the criminals or show up at homes in order to get the job done. Anything can and will happen, which is why fans tune in every week. Sadly, Deputy Dalton Swanger of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office recently found himself in the line of fire. He was reporting to the site of alleged gunshots and was hiding behind a tree for protection. Unfortunately, in the darkness, he had no idea what was going on and was smacked in the head.

He was bleeding, which he had no idea of due to the darkness, and was soon taken to the ambulance. That was when he realized his leg was no longer working and suffered a grand mal seizure. This would go on for roughly an hour, and it impaired his breathing. Per Deputy Swanger, he suffered a “depressed skull fracture, cerebral contusion, disc protrusions in his cervical spine, and an intracranial contusion.”

He thanked the On Patrol: Live community for being there and constantly checking in on him. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to God and his girlfriend, Stephania. Deputy Swanger finally stated that he will do this job until he is no longer able to. This is a testament to how much he loves what he does, regardless of the risks he has to take and the injuries he sustained.

Deputy Dalton Swanger was even in a medically induced coma during this time, and it has not stopped his love and devotion. The On Patrol: Live community was devastated when this occurred and wanted all of the updates possible. Now that he has spoken up and out, they are filled with relief that he is on a much better track:

Although he is doing much better, many were worried that he would have long-term aftereffects from what he went through. It could be physical or it could be emotional. Either way, he is back on track, and that is the best news.
