‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Worries Fans With Troubling Comment
Whoopi Goldberg has served as the hot topics moderator and co-host of The View since 2007. Viewers were surprised that she wasn’t on last week. The actress and author was in Italy to receive a huge honor for her latest book. She returned to the show on Monday, July 7.
The ladies brought up the results of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, trial, which ended last week after two months of testimony. He was accused of s*x trafficking and other crimes. An offhanded comment Whoopi Goldberg made during the discussion sent fans running to social media with concern.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Trial Comes To Shocking End
Singer Cassie Venture publicly accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape and other abuse in 2018. Her claims were widely ignored until 2023, when a video leaked online of the rapper beating her in the hallway of a hotel in 2016. The leak came amid a lawsuit she filed against him. He quickly settled the lawsuit to avoid more accusations from coming out.
However, the situation didn’t end there. He was indicted in September 2024 for multiple crimes, including s*x trafficking. The trial started in May. Cassie was one of the witnesses for the prosecution. She spent days on the witness stand answering questions about the abuse she allegedly suffered from Diddy.
After two months of shocking testimony, the jury finally reached a verdict. They found Sean “Diddy” Combs not guilty of most of the charges, including s*x trafficking. He was found guilty on two counts of “transportation to engage in prostitution.”
He is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
The View Hosts React To Trial Results
The verdict received mixed reactions from the public. Some fans who stood by Diddy during the accusations celebrated his acquittal. However, not everyone celebrated the news.
The co-hosts of The View addressed the verdict during the Monday, July 7, episode. According to The Wrap, Ana Navarro threatened to ‘go viral’ if she ever saw Diddy on the streets in Miami.
Whoopi Goldberg said that the people who enabled Diddy will have to live with their shame for the rest of their lives. But at one point in the discussion, she made a comment that worried fans. The Oscar-winning actress said she doesn’t know if she has 20 years left to live.

Whoopi Goldberg has struggled with her health for years, so fans were rightly concerned by the comment she made. Even co-host, Sara Haines, seemed worried and took Whoopi’s hand after the comment.
Fans of The View went to social media to discuss the moment. One fan was concerned for Whoopi Goldberg’s well-being. But another fan pointed out that the actress turns 70 later this year, so realistically, she won’t live for another twenty years.
“Whoopi would be almost 90 years old in 2045. I hope she lives that long (or longer), but I also think her comment means that she’s come to terms with her own morality. Sadly, none of us will beat Father Time,” another fan explained.
