Kanye West Walks Out On Piers Morgan In Heated Confrontation
Rapper Kanye West was recently set to have an interview with Piers Morgan. However, midway through, the rapper walked out, causing a friend of his to fill in for him. The rapper and the journalist later continued the conversation on social media.
Kanye West Was Joined With A Social Media Star For The Piers Morgan Interview
As a journalist Piers Morgan started his career working with The Sun. Over the years, he has since established himself as a television presenter, hosting shows like ITV’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and CNN’s Piers Morgan Live.
Morgan was recently set to interview rapper and record producer Kanye West as part of his YouTube series, Uncensored. However, things did not go as planned, as seen on the uploaded video.
The interview could be seen on the Uncensored YouTube page, where Kanye could be seen with social media star Sneako. A description read, “Kanye ‘Ye’ West is rarely out of the headlines at the moment – and for all the wrong reasons. The rapper, producer and fashion designer is releasing a new album, with several new offensively-titled tracks being previewed on a recent livestream with his friend Sneako. The pair join Piers Morgan for an interview – but only a few minutes in, things turn sour.”
During the interview, the rapper took issue with being addressed by his last name. As he put it, “I don’t use the term West, you know, the whole drop the slave name idea?”
Morgan asked, “Ok, so we just call you Ye, yeah?,” with the rapper responding, “Yes sir.” When asked how his life was going, Kanye replied, “You see that view?… Judge it on the view on the answer how my life is, judge me by the view.”
The Rapper Compared Himself To John Lennon & Michael Jackson
Morgan noted, “The view is Majorca, I’ve been there. It’s a beautiful place, and for all intents and purposes, you seem very relaxed and happy.” He then continued, “That is in direct contrast to your public image at the moment, over the last couple of years.”
After an interruption, West responded, “But I already disagree, it’s not in contrast, there’s so many people and artists that are championing the idea of someone being able to just express who they really are, and have been able to go through the war of being attacked by the banks, being attacked, you know, by the banks. That’s the best way to put it!”
As the conversation went on, Morgan began to talk about Kanye’s following on X. Morgan initially got to a bad start by saying the rapper had a following of “32 million followers,” which Kanye said was less than the actual number. The journalist then noted, “I’m told it’s 33 million now. So congratulations, you’re slightly bigger following than I thought.”
Ye then began to compare himself to other figures in the music industry. As he replied, “Why do all you people in media act like you haven’t played my songs at your weddings or graduations or at funerals, and when your child was born, you know, you take somebody that’s living like a [John] Lennon, a Michael Jackson, and you just take all this time to, like that nuance right there, it’s idiotic.”
A confused Morgan then asked, “What are you talking about? I haven’t said anything?” Ye responded, “Now you are not taking accountability or responsibility.” He continued, “No sir, this is what you get for now we can, we can circle back when you can count.”
Morgan & Ye Later Exchanged Words On Social Media
It was at this point that Ye took off his mic and left the set. Morgan then continued the conversation with Sneako, who shared, “That’s it for Ye. Nice to meet you, Piers.”
Sneako continued the interview on behalf on the rapper. Defending his friend, he said the interview wasn’t about “Twitter,” adding, “It’s patronizing for no reason. You said his name incorrectly. You know his name is Ye. He’s very public about that.”

“We were prepared for a good interview. But, come on, you know what you were doing.
Sneako continued, “I think you were trying to patronize very intentionally, by getting those two things under his skin…. This information is not that difficult to get right.” Morgan then defended himself, pointing out that the interview had been delayed, inconveniencing his crew in Spain.
Piers and Kanye would continue dialogue on X. In a post, the rapper shared, while tagging Morgan, “Let’s have a real interview someday. It’s all love.” Morgan himself replied, “We could have had one yesterday if you hadn’t run away before I could ask you any questions. When you’re prepared to actually do that, let me know.”
