Love Island USA is set to premiere its eighth season next month. However, news has come out that one contestant has already been expelled from the villa. Production sources have since been sharing details about the story.

Love Island USA Will Debut Season 8 In Early June

Love Island USA is an American dating reality series based on the British Love Island series. Originally running from 2019 to 2022 on CBS, the series later moved to Peacock in 2022.

The series revolves around a group of contestants, or “Islanders,” who live in isolation from the outside world in a villa. The aim of the game for the Islanders is to couple up, whether for love or for survival.

Vasana Montgomery is a business owner who reportedly joined the show as part of its upcoming eighth season, which is set to premiere on June 2. Before the season had premiered, reports came out that she had already been removed from the villa.

Love Island USA Usually Films Episodes With A One To Two Day Delay Before Airtime

As noted by TMZ, it was reported that Montgomery was featured in videos online in which she appeared to use the n-word. In one clip, Montgomery appeared to say it while rapping along to a song. In another, she appeared to yell it out while her friend was playing an arcade game.

Production sources speaking with the outlet claimed that Vasana will no longer be on the show. The sources claimed that the videos surfaced on social media appeared to be private videos. These clips were not publicly shared until after the cast was announced. This is why they wouldn’t have come up when production vetted Vasana.

As the outlet noted, this isn’t the first time Love Island USA producers have had to deal with remarks allegedly made by a cast member. Last year, Yulissa Escobar was removed from the show after allegedly using the n-word on multiple podcast clips.

Some reality shows might film months in advance. However, Love Island USA is normally filmed over the course of about six weeks in real time. Thanks to this, there are only around one or two day-delays before the events of the villa make it to broadcast. Notably, the news also comes out around a day after Love Island USA‘s official Instagram account shared a carousel post featuring Vasana.
