Michael Strahan Rejects Gift From ‘GMA’ Co-Hosts
Michael Strahan has worn many hats over the years, including playing professional football, but he is arguably best known these days for his co-hosting duties on Good Morning America. Recently, Strahan received a gift while on the show. However, this gift wasn’t so warmly accepted by the media personality.
Michael Strahan Got A Gift Before Special Guests Were Set To Visit Good Morning America
Strahan started his prolific career playing football, spending 15 years as a defensive end for the New York Giants. He eventually retired from the NFL in 2008.
Since then, however, Strahan has also become well-known as a media personality. Around the time of his retirement, he would join Fox NFL Sunday‘s pregame show. By 2016, he would become a prominent part of Good Morning America.
Strahan may have retired from playing professional football, but he hasn’t forgotten his days on the gridiron. This actually came up during a recent episode of Good Morning America.
During the episode, it was announced that players from the Philadelphia Eagles would soon be joining them in the studio, where they would talk about their “incredible autism foundation.” Ahead of their appearance, Strahan’s co-hosts had a gift from the team for him that they were somewhat reluctant to share. In particular, they were especially worried about showing Strahan something from the back.
Fans On Both Sides Weighed In On The Moment On Social Media
It was a Philadelphia Eagles jersey with Strahan’s name printed on it, as if he were a player. Strahan wanted to see the gift, saying, “Gimme the jersey.” Upon seeing his name on the back, he replied, “All I can say is… you wish!”
The show eventually cut to Ginger Zee. She reminisced on a previous time the rivalry between the Giants and the Eagles came up on the show. As she shared, “I will never forget the boo’s we got when we went to Philadelphia. I love that rivalry. It’s so fun.”

The Giants and the Eagles are known for their rivalry with each other. Interestingly enough, in 2021, the Giants would retire Strahan’s number during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both Strahan and Good Morning America shared a clip of the moment on social media, as well as a collage of the screenshots. Fans took the opportunity to share their own reactions to the moment. Naturally, fans of both the Giants and the Eagles weighed in on the moment. Some comments included:
