Wendy Williams just had her biggest interview yet during her struggles to gain freedom from her guardianship. While she has done several interviews, including one with TMZ, this one was on national television, where she called into The View to talk about her fight for freedom. However, in it, she discussed her recent alcohol relapse, which is part of what is keeping her locked up in the memory care center.

Here is what Wendy had to say about her alcohol relapse and what it means for her upcoming battles.

Wendy Williams Explains Alcohol Dependency

Wendy Williams has been in the news a lot lately. The main news was that Wendy wants a re-evaluation after her legally appointed guardian has said she is mentally incapacitated. Part of the problem for Wendy was her alcoholism, and that is said to have played a big role in her diagnosis.

Wendy spoke to the women on The View about the alcohol relapse and what it means for her current struggles. Each of the women spoke to Wendy about her case and what was going on. Wendy, who seemed upset about her situation, was as clear and focused as she has been in other recent interviews, casting more doubt into her diagnosis.

Alyssa Farah Griffin wanted to get one thing in the open, though. She asked Wendy about her addiction struggles and what her relationship with them going forward would be. That is when Wendy said something great.

“The relationship is fine and it’s wonderful because I’ve had my devices, and I have to tell you something, I am easily going on with my life alcohol-free for the rest of my life,” Wendy said.

Wendy Williams Discusses Her Alcohol Relapse

With that said, Wendy Williams did say that she had an alcohol relapse recently. This was something that people have asked Wendy about several times, and she explained to the hosts of The View about the infamous alcohol relapse.

“I must admit to you, that when I got from Connecticut to New York, it was my birthday, July 18, and yes, I celebrated, you know what I’m saying?” Wendy said. “But no more, no more alcohol, thank you.”

Ginalisa Monterroso, founder and president of Connect Care Advisory Group, was with Wendy as she conducted the phone interview with The View. Wendy then said that she no longer needed guardianship and the “incapacitation” claims were lies. Most notably, Wendy said that the guardian and the judge were nothing like her. She said she needed someone like her to decide her future (via Page Six).

“How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not!” Wendy said. “I’ve been doing important things all of my life and these two people don’t look like me. They don’t talk like me, they don’t act like me, they will never be me. I need them to get off my neck!”
