Wendy Williams recently received a psych exam known as a “capacity test” amid her current guardianship and life in an assisted living facility. As the star’s results come in, this brings up questions concerning her current situation. This also raises questions concerning her guardian’s previous statements concerning a re-evaluation.

Wendy Williams Was Taken To A Hospital This Past Monday

The former host of The Wendy Williams Show retired from the public life following a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. The star is currently living in a New York City assisted living facility and is under a guardianship under Sabrina Morrissey.

However, over the past few months, Williams has spoken out about her current situation. She notably spoke with outlets including TMZ, ABC News, and the radio podcast series, The Breakfast Club. This had led many to wonder if Williams’ current situation is necessary.

It had previously been reported that Williams was recently taken to a New York City hospital. At the time, it was noted that police were on the scene to help escort Williams to an ambulance. It had also been reported that Williams dropped a note outside of the window of her assisted living facility.

As TMZ noted, this past Monday also saw Williams examined by a psychiatrist. It had been reported that the former talk show host had a fully intact metal capacity.

The publication claimed sources reported that Williams aced a “capacity test,” scoring a 10 out of 10 questions. These questions were meant to determine if she was alert and oriented. The hospital was also identified as Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Williams’ Guardian Sabrina Morrissey Previously Talked About A Possible Re-Evaluation

It was noted that the results are different than Williams’ guardian’s assessment. Reportedly, the guardian had filed legal documents claiming that Williams’ condition was getting worse.

However, it was also noted that Williams was not examined Monday to see if she had been misdiagnosed. That said, the results of the capacity test will be forwarded to a judge concerning her guardianship case.

The U.S. Sun also reported that the evaluation was not connected to a scheduled evaluation that will determine if Williams can participate in her guardian’s current lawsuit with Lifetime. At this time, Morrissey is in a legal battle with Lifetime concerning the Where Is Wendy Williams? documentary.

Morrissey had previously suggested that Williams would undergo a re-evaluation. However, a filing also claimed, “The Guardian has no interest in pursuing litigation in the extremely unlikely event that the new medical examination finds that W.W.H. somehow now has the mental capacity to direct the A&E matter.”

As the publication noted, Williams herself has also spoken out about her situation, causing many to question the guardianship. In a conversation with The Breakfast Club, Williams noted, “I feel like I am in prison. I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s.”
