‘The View’ Loses War To Fox Show, Can Whoopi Save Them?

The View: Whoopi Goldberg

The View has long been a ratings juggernaut when it comes to popular television shows on the air. However, the popular show recently lost in the ratings to a Fox show. Can Whoopi Goldberg save the talk show and bring it back to the top following this recent fall?

The View Has Been One Of The Top Shows Around

When it comes to popular talk shows, The View is always in the conversation. With popular personalities like Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar leading the pack, it’s a show that continues to pull in viewers. So much so that most people would not think it would ever lose steam.

One of the things that makes The View so popular is the fact that the show does not tip-toe around sensitive topics. As viewers have seen for years, the famous panel on this show is notoriously opinionated, and the ladies are never shy about expressing those opinions.

While this often brings controversy, it also drives engagement and views. So, in the end, it’s a winning formula that has kept the machine running for a long time.

The View Loses In The Ratings To Another Show

As popular as The View is, the talk show recently lost the ratings war for January to another show, The Faulkner Focus. The show, hosted by Harris Faulkner, had an average audience of 2.552M. The View, on the other hand, had an average of 2.508M.

One may naturally be wondering what caused this surprising ratings dip for The View, especially since it has been such a powerhouse for so long. One big factor that led to this ratings dip has been the fact that Whoopi Goldberg has been absent a lot of the time.

As The View fans have seen, Joy Behar has filled in as the moderator of the discussion on Fridays, when Whoopi has taken a break from her usual post of guiding the discussion. As much as viewers love Joy for her off-the-cuff remarks, the reception does not seem to be quite the same when she is in charge of moderating the discussion.

Can Whoopi Goldberg Save The Show?

While The View lost out to The Faulkner Focus when it came to the ratings and viewership in January, this may be extra incentive for Whoopi Goldberg and the crew to right the ship and climb back on top.

The good news is, they did not fall too far. So, there is certainly room to make up some ground. As February continues, it will be interesting to see if The View can get back to the top this month.

  1. The View only has one View. They think they are always right even though they are far , far LEFT. WISH TEY WOULD LEAVE!

  2. Harris Faulkner is a very professional host that is far more informed and balanced than anyone on the View
