‘The View’ Joy Behar Takes Charge, Shuts Sara Haines Down
Whoopi Goldberg was not on The View last Friday. As a result, Joy Behar took over as the panel member required to keep things under control. However, when Sara Haines was talking to guest Michael Strahan, she commented about his nickname, and Joy had to step in and shut Sara down before things got a little out of control.
Here is a look at what Sara said, and why Joy had to step in to shut it down.
The View: Michael Strahan Talks About His Daughter’s Cancer Journey
Michael Strahan was missing in action from Good Morning America this week. Instead, he was on a promotional tour to talk about the upcoming ABC docuseries about his daughter, Isabella Strahan.
This interview started to get to Sara Haines, who was tearing up at one point as they spoke about Isabella’s courageous battle. Michael said he never even watched his daughter’s vlogs since he had to live through it and didn’t want to relive it again. He even said he wasn’t planning to watch the docuseries, although he is in it.
They then broke the tension some and talked about football and Michael’s family. Michael is a grandfather now, and The View hosts wanted to know what it was like for him to have grandchildren. That is when Ana Navarro asked what his grandbaby Onyx was going to call him.
“First of all, he’s going to call me Big Papa,” Michael said to the hosts. They all seemed to love the name. Sunny Hostin openly admitted to thinking it was a great nickname, but then Sara asked, “But don’t other people call you that, too?”
Joy Behar Shuts Down Sara Haines On The View
Michael Strahan seemed a little taken aback by Sara Haines’s comment. The two are close friends from when Sara worked with Michael on Good Morning America. This was obviously in good fun. Joy Behar then looked at Sara and said, “Easy now, language.” Michael laughed about it and said, “It’s a family show!”

Michael Strahan was on the show talking about Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight Against Cancer, the ABC docuseries that documents Isabella’s brain cancer battle. Michael, Isabella, Sophia Strahan, and more will be on the special to share their story on ABC on Wednesday, February 5. It will also air on Disney+ and Hulu the next day.
