Great American Family has finally announced the premiere date for the When Calls The Heart spinoff series When Hope Calls. Who is returning, and which new stars are joining the series? Most of all, when can Hopefuls and Hearties get to see these new episodes?

When Is Great American Family Premiering When Hope Calls Season 2?

Hearties and Hopefuls who have been waiting for the premiere news of When Hope Calls Season 2 finally got it on Tuesday night. On Tuesday night, Cameron Mathison emceed a special Facebook Live with Great American Family CEO Bill Abbot and the network’s Chief Creative Officer Candace Cameron Bure. At that event, they finally announced the When Hope Calls Season 2 premiere date.

The network’s streaming channel will premiere on Thursday, April 3, on Great American PureFlix, their streaming channel. Next, they announced the network premiere is on Sunday, April 6. This is an eight-episode season.

When Hope Calls is the When Calls The Heart spinoff, of two sisters who find each other after having been orphans as children and growing up in dramatically different ways. Soon, they go to Brookfield to open an orphanage to help others who are in the same circumstances. This series is about their life in Brookfield.

The series originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel. That network did not renew it for Season 2. A few years ago, GAF made a Christmas episode consisting of two episodes. This featured Lori Loughlin and Daniel Lissing. However, the remaining eight episodes did not get made. That is until a few months ago. This has been a long road, and the fans cannot wait.

Cindy Busby Is Part Of New Cast

Attending this special When Hope Calls announcement was Cindy Busby. She has been added to this season as Nora. In addition, Christopher Russell is also in the When Calls The Heart spinoff as Mountie Michael. A third new regular is Nick Bateman as Wyatt.

They join regular Morgan Kohan, who portrayed Lilian from the beginning of the series. Also returning is Ryan-James Hatanaka as Mountie Gabriel. Also Wendy Crewson is back as Tess, and Hanneke Talbot as Maggie.

Lastly, Trevor Donovan will be in two episodes. Donovan portrays Constable Jim Reynolds. As formerly reported, the 90210 alum’s character is “an experienced Mountie based in Clearwater.” Furthermore, he is “A strapping man, proficient in horse riding and physical pursuits, Reynolds is known for his strong presence and skills on the field.”

Expect to meet him in the third episode. He has a child that Nora and Michael picking up a child, presumably for the orphanage. But, the Constable has some important policing, as “Reynolds captures cattle rustlers preying on Brookfield ranches.”

Do Viewers Need To See When Hope Calls Season 1 Before Watching Season 2 On GAF?

During the Facebook Live event, some fans asked if they needed to watch When Hope Calls Season 1 in order to watch Season 2. Bill Abbott said it was not necessary. However, it would be odd for him to send fans to Hallmark+ to watch the first season. Moreover, the Christmas episodes are available on PureFlix.

What is not complicated is that fans can watch WHC Season 2 on GAF starting on Sunday, April 6.
