Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Reason For GAF Christmas Movie Switch With Cameron Mathison
Now that Great American Christmas is ending soon, some of Candace Cameron Bure’s fans may want to know why she and Cameron Mathison did not make the originally announced Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. Instead, they filmed Home Sweet Christmas, which premiered on Thanksgiving weekend.
The If I Only Had Christmas star recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about this surprising change. Bure was asked, “Are there a number of Christmas screenplays that are typically ready to go at a moment’s notice?”
CCB replied, “Usually, we hope that’s never the case. But this year, it was the case.” Then she explained that the choice to make a change had to do with the production of this movie. “As we went into some of the production elements, I realized very quickly that it probably wasn’t going to be the best movie that we could do. I pulled the plug on it pretty quickly.”

What Was Rejected Script Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells About?
Candace Cameron Bure fans may want a refresher on what Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells was supposed to be about. According to the Deadline report, this story revolves around Gracie, the wedding planner at the Peachtree Inn. Her motto is “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered.”
Cameron Mathison was set to play Charlie. Charlie brought along his sister Lindsay, and Josh, his future brother-in-law to the Inn, which is in Butler, South Carolina. They want a “magical” Christmas Eve wedding. However, Grace will not take the job because there is not enough time to “pull off the perfect wedding” in two weeks. Eventually, she agrees, but soon discovers “there are more hurdles to overcome than expected.”
It is not clear which “production elements” made CCB reconsider this script. It could be finding an inn, or putting together a magical wedding. Hopefully, there will come a time when she can make this movie happen.
