The Conners will be back for its “farewell” seventh season which has some fans brokenhearted. No matter how good or bad the show had gotten, it was reliable with familiar faces. Now, the series is officially ending but when will the last handful of episodes air? Keep reading for more details.
The Conners Sets Return Date For ‘Farewell’ Season 7
When Season 6 of The Conners was coming to a close, there was a lot of uncertainty. The show changed time slots which is always a hit-or-miss situation. Then, it was down to the wire and there were no contracts sent out to the cast. This led many to believe the show had reached its limit and was no longer a fan favorite. Originally, it was a reboot of the hit sitcom, Roseanne, which ran for nine seasons. It ended its run in 1997 but when all of the hit series were being resurrected, it seemed like the perfect time to bring it back.
In 2018, Roseanne came back for a short stint but after the show’s namesake made some controversial statements, it was axed. Roseanne Barr was let go but the cast wanted the series to stay alive. More so, they wanted the crew to keep their jobs and were not ready to end it. Therefore, it was rebranded as The Conners, Roseanne was killed off, and the focus was life without her. Though it was never quite the same, the storylines still delighted fans. At the last minute, the sitcom was saved and brought back for a shortened Season 7.

The writers were ready to make the Season 6 finale the series finale but luckily, they were given more time to wrap it all up in a nice bow. According to TV Line, there will be six episodes and they will premiere in March 2025. In Spring 2024, EP Bruce Helford shared what to expect for the final season:
“We carry the weight of the Roseanne legacy. It’s a big, big deal. I can promise you this: They will never win the lottery, and they will never be rich.”
Ultimately, it is about honoring the show’s legacy as this is likely the closing of the Roseanne/Conners chapter.
A Better Ending
As many fans may recall, the Roseanne series finale has been billed as one of the worst in sitcom history. Clearly, that is not how this ship will go down. This season will be filled with surprises but what is the fan reaction to the finale date being revealed? It was nothing but love, sadness, and some suggestions:

The “farewell” shortened season is around the corner but they are likely to bring out all of the stops. The show has had laughs, tears, and everything in between. Now it is time to say goodbye after a total of eight seasons which is a great run. Yes, eight, if the 2018 season of Roseanne is included. That’s pretty phenomenal so get ready because The Conners are back.

It was never the same without Roseanne……I quit watching after the 1st season.
The Conner’s is a well written comedy that handles problems of family life with some fairly direct humor. I anticipated the weekly shows more than I thought I did…once I realized it wasn’t coming on! I hope the six episodes that wrap this excellent series gets the massive audience it deserves.
I never had any interest in watching this spinoff after Roseanne was killed off. That was a huge mistake for the network. Her comedy kept things real in the storyline. With her, this series would not be ending now.
