Is ‘Below Deck Med’ Captain Sandy Yawn Losing Interest?

Below Deck Med Season 9 is underway and there’s been plenty of drama and poor work performance under Captain Sandy Yawn. In the past, she seemed to be a micromanager, but she seems to have changed. Is it because she took her love life next level with Leah Shafer? Or, is she just losing interest?

Captain Sandy Yawn Often Fires People

Ahead of Season 9, Bravo viewers already started wondering who would be fired. Chef Johnathan was high on the list of those who would leave. Then there was Lain, the bosun who wasn’t pulling his weight. Of course, the season also brought in Bri Muller and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich. Their feuding kept the attention of fans on their love triangle.

Captain Sandy Yawn has Aesha Scott back with her this season, and the beloved Bravo star seems less efficient at dealing with staff problems. Admittedly, she’s been down an experienced third stew. However, Bravo fans expected more from the Below Deck Med veteran. But, it’s perplexing that the boss at the helm seems so casual these days. That is not the Sandy that fans know of old.

Aesha Scott Not Stepping Up? Is Sandy Losing Interest?

On Reddit, talking about Season 9 of the Bravo show, one viewer seemed confused by all the drama that goes on with no consequences. They wrote:

Aesha … Bri has held her head up. “Maybe she will be a good stew?” Maybe she will be a passable stew?” Maybe BRI will be JUST a stew?” Nah…. baby she is the CHIEF STEW! Aesha you have not supported her in anyway. You have a reason for that. It’s time you tell the truth… How are you NOT noticing her work ethic? You will be a shoulder to cry on for a girl cheating on her boyfriend? That is non work related and unprofessional. Bri has come to you so many times. You had no solutions and nothing to say? Aesha you always have something to say.

In the comments section, Bravo fans discussed that maybe Captain Sandy Yawn should say something to Aesha:

• Yeah she’s dropping the ball. She’s not doing a good job this season. I’m very surprised Sandy hasn’t had something to say about it.

Captain Sandy Yawn doesn’t seem to be too worked up about people dropping the ball this season. So, it’s a bit of a headscratcher. Possibly, she won’t say anything to Aesha Scott.
