Desperate Ellen DeGeneres Relocates To Central Africa?
The Ellen Degeneres Show was very popular until 2020 when things started crashing for the comedian. After allegations of racism, the situation deteriorated. Making a comedy comeback didn’t work and recently, she canceled a tour. Is she running away to Africa to find refuge among people who don’t care about cancel culture in the USA? Read on to find out what’s going on.
Ellen DeGeneres Never Regained Full Popularity
In May 2022, after a former child star, Greyson Chance alleged that the comedian used him and degraded him, the show ended. Done with her talk show and vilified, the person who people couldn’t help but love became unwanted. So, for a while she was quiet.
Fans of The Ellen DeGeneres Show felt happy in 2024 when they heard that she would do a standup comedy special with Netflix. Relocating To Rwanda?
InTouch Weekly reported on July 17, that the famous talk show host was just about done with living Stateside. Turning her back on her comedian career and The Ellen Degeneres Show, she allegedly hopes to find a happier reception from the locals in Africa. Rwanda appears to be her destination of choice.
The outlet reminded readers that “in 2022, The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund opened near Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.” Dian Fossey was murdered but her work with Gorillas goes on. The outlet’s sources claim that Ellen’s wife, Portia loves Africa and the work they do there. Apparently, the reasons include:
[Living] like royalty over there, and crucially they’re lauded and loved by the locals who appreciate all the funding and passion they’ve provided for the endangered apes.
The source added “Ellen’s desperate for salvation and appreciation. It’s just a crying shame to her that she needs to go as far as Africa to get it!”
Problems For LGBTQ People In Central Africa?
Ellen and her wife, Portia might have some issues in beautiful and wild Rwanda, as they don’t legally accept same-sex marriages. However, acceptance of gender preferences seems widespread. According to Expert Africa:
In 2011, the Rwanda government signed the UN statement condemning violence against LGBT people…As the only country in the region without anti-homosexuality laws, Rwanda is becoming something of a haven for LGBT citizens alienated from from neighbouring countries, notably Uganda, and Kigali especially has a growing LGBT population.
What are your thoughts about Ellen DeGeneres considering relocating to Rwanda in Central Africa? Do you think she will be happy there? Of course, it’s unlikely that her brand of humor would be understood by the majority of Rwandan people. But, working with animals and nature does have a lot of rewards.
