A famous comedian has called out Jeopardy! contestants on social media after all three failed to identify them on the show. Eric Andre was floored when none of the three competitors guessed his name after the clue was given in an episode last week. Continue reading to see what the clue was and if you think you’d have guessed it.

Jeopardy! Contestants Fail To Identify Eric Andre

Viewers often agree that some of the hardest questions on Jeopardy! aren’t the academic ones. In fact, a pop culture spinoff of the show is slated to premiere soon and it will focus on the questions that “regular” contestants find so difficult.

However, on an episode that aired last week, three contestants failed to identify a famous comedian after the clue was given. Cat Pisacano, Matt Brooks, and Zoe Strassfield didn’t have an answer for the $2,000 clue under the “Guests on Hot Ones” category in Double Jeopardy!

Host Ken Jennings read the clue, “On his Adult Swim show, this host destroys his set every episode, but says he is sedated in real life: ‘I meditate, jog. I eat salad.'” The clue was accompanied by a photo of the comedian, but none of them could name who he was.

Of course, the answer was “Who is Eric Andre?” He hosts the Adult Swim series The Eric Andre Show and has appeared in a number of films, including Jackass Forever and Bad Trip.

Following the Jeopardy! episode, Eric Andrew called the contestants out on social media. He posted a video from the game show on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “Damn they left me hanging,” followed by a laughing emoji and then a cricket emoji.

The official Jeopardy! Instagram account replied to Eric’s post. In the comments, they wrote, “This is worse than Bird Up!” referencing a sketch on his Adult Swim show about “the worst show on television” titled “Bird Up.”

Fans weighed in on the blunder in the comments. One person pointed out, “I think being the 2000 question is somewhat of a compliment.” Another said that you could “hear Ken’s disappointment.”

Remember When All Three Players Didn’t Know Garth Brooks?

Eric Andre is far from the first celebrity to go unrecognized by Jeopardy! contestants. In November 2023, contestants were asked to identify a popular country music singer. The clue read, “This country superstar’s ‘Friends In Low Places’ was named CMA Single of the Year in 1991.” Once again, a photo of the celeb was shared with the clue.

None of the players buzzed in to identify Garth Brooks. Ken Jennings was stunned none of them guessed who it was. He said, “How soon we forget. That’s Chris Gaines’ alter ego, Garth Brooks.”

Viewers clamored to social media. No one could believe that none of them recognized the extremely popular country music singer.

“How do these three not know who Garth Brooks is??” one viewer wrote on X. “Even if you aren’t a country fan, he’s one of the most well-known music artists from the 90s.”
