Savannah Guthrie’s Real Reason For Missing ‘Today’ Revealed
Savannah Guthrie has missed multiple days of Today, and many fans were worried. However, her co-host, Hoda Kotb, has spoken up and revealed where Guthrie is and why she has missed time on the popular daytime talk show.

Hoda Kotb Explains Savannah Guthrie’s Absence
Savannah Guthrie missed the Thursday and Friday episodes of Today, which concerned some fans. However, her co-host, Hoda Kotb, opened the Thursday, June 20th episode by explaining where her partner was.
According to Hoda, Savannah Guthrie was “taking some well-deserved time off” from the talk show. Craig Melvin replaced Savannah for the episodes and Sheinelle Jones also joined them as a third co-host for the shows.
For her part, Savannah played up the time off by posting a photo of a glass of wine with the caption, “out of office.” That caused many fans to flood into her comments, wishing her well during her time off from Today.

While Savannah didn’t mention where she was possibly vacationing, she might be back soon. The entire Today crew is heading to Paris to cover the 2024 Summer Olympics. “To quote the Pointer Sisters, ‘I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it,’” Savannah said on a Today episode when talking about this opportunity.
According to Hoda, she and Savannah are covering the gymnastics. “You know, Hoda is like the unofficial den mother of USA Gymnastics,” Savannah joked to Jimmy Fallon.
Savannah Guthrie Taking Extra Time Off From Today
One commenter to Savannah Guthrie’s post mentioned that it seems that she is taking more time off than she is on the show lately. While that isn’t technically true, Savannah has taken a few breaks from filming over the past few months.

In April, she left early from one episode. Hoda claims that she was getting an early start for the weekend. She also missed a Monday episode that same week, with Hoda saying she was “taking some time off today.”
Last October, she also took time off from the show. However, while it is noticeable since she is someone people watch on TV every day, she has the same rights to vacation time as anyone else, and that is likely what these missing days are. It seems she spreads her requests off rather than taking a long vacation at once.
