‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie Stepping Away From Show
Sad news for fans of The Today Show as Savannah Guthrie will be stepping away from the show next week. Today: Savannah Guthrie Stepping Away From Show
Savannah Guthrie took to her Instagram Stories earlier this week with some exciting news. Unfortunately, this exciting news was also a little bittersweet for fans of The Today Show. She had been presented with an amazing opportunity. This opportunity, however, would force her to step away from her duties on the talk show for a day or two. Exactly how long she’ll be away from The Today Show is unclear. But, she will definitely not be part of the episode that airs on October 11th.
Savannah Guthrie revealed she had the honor of being added to the special guest list for an upcoming event called Heroes and History Makers. This event is hosted by the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. And, it takes place in Washington D.C. on October 11th.
The star-studded special guest list also includes actors Tom Hanks and Adam Driver. While registration for the event has closed, The Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Instagram provided more information on what to expect:

The foundation continued to share: “From an elegant cocktail reception to a seated dinner and program featuring a special musical performance, immerse yourself in the company of honored guests and the resilient families who proudly stand behind our heroes.”
This Special Event Means A Lot To Savannah
For those who know Savannah’s background, this event holds a very special place in her heart. Her older brother Charles ‘Camron’ served in the military for just shy of three decades. Her older brother was an F-16 pilot. He retired in 2018.
Savannah Guthrie wasn’t shy about telling the world how proud she was of her big brother on social media. She even honored her brother and his achievements during an episode of The Today Show back in 2018.

She penned in a tribute to her brother on social media: “He retired from military flying this weekend and we were so honored to see his last flight. I have never been more proud of my big brother.”
