‘Today’ Hoda Kotb & Savannah Guthrie Share Sad Rejection
Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie opened up with viewers and shared a sad rejection they have experienced. Unfortunately, they were both turned down. To kick off a new week, Mindy Kaling appeared on Today to chat with Hoda and Savannah. On the Monday, October 2 episode of the talk show, the three ladies talked about several different topics and had a great conversation. The ladies were excited to reconnect and kept fans very well-entertained throughout the segment, of course.
At one point, Mindy, Hoda, and Savannah talked about their high school experiences.

While chatting about high school, Mindy claimed that she was a nerd. However, she quickly learned that Hoda and Savannah consider themselves nerds as well. First, Savannah confessed that she “didn’t go to prom.” Then, Hoda echoed this sentiment and said she also “didn’t go to prom.”
Hoda Kotb continued, “Wait, did you get asked or did you ask him?” Kotb said. “Because I only got a date when I asked. That’s why I’m asking.”
In response, Savannah Guthrie said, “Me too!”
Mindy Kaling informed the hosts that she went to prom twice while in high school. So, Savannah pointed out that she and Hoda are bigger nerds than Mindy.

Despite the rejection Hoda and Savannah might have faced in high school by not going to prom, they seem to be doing very well for themselves today. In the past, Hoda and Savannah have opened up about not going to prom. On a previous episode of Today, the pair talked with their co-hosts about prom. It turns out that Al Roker also didn’t attend his school dance because no one asked him to go with them.
Between their personal successes and their impressive careers, Savannah and Hoda have gone far, and not going to prom didn’t have an impact on that, of course. They’ve proudly accepted the fact that they were nerds in high school.
