‘DDWTD’ Deon Derrico Asks Fans For Prayers
Doubling Down With the Derricos fans know that Deon Derrico’s mom, Marian “GG” Derrico suffers from cancer. So, a call for prayer might make TLC viewers think he’s talking about her. However, this time, it’s not about her. So, you can relax on that point. However, his call does relate to a close family member. Read on to find out the worrying news.
Deon Derrico Has An Extended Family
When TLC fans first met the family on TLC, they heard that Eric Jefferson is considered to be a member of the family. He often helps out with all the kids. However, he’s not related. As the first season of DDWTD moved along, sleuths discovered that there was another son who didn’t appear on the show. Derron Derrico was adopted, but he kept his distance. The new call for prayer is not for Derron or Eric.
Deon Derrico has other family members, and you might recall that his brother, Chris passed away. Christopher Turner died in 2020 and it made his younger brother very sad. The news reached TLC fans three years after the tragedy. It’s not clear how Chris died, but his passing seemed very tragic.
A Call For Prayers – Amani
In June of 2023, Doubling Diwn With the Derricos fans saw that a young man named Amani contacted the family. He thought that he was the son of Chris, and therefore a relative of Deon and Karen. From the information received, it seemed that Chris didn’t know he had a son. In fact, Amani agreed to take a DNA test. This week’s call to prayer involved Amani and Deon Sounds very worried.
TLC fans who follow the TLC family saw that this week, Deon Derrico posted a story on Instagram, and the TLC star said:
Hey prayer warriors, please send up a prayer for my nephew Amani, he’s currently in surgery undergoing a liver transplant and he’s been Extremely sick this entire year!
Deon Derrico hopefully gets a lot of people praying for Amani. After all, he is the grandson of GG Derrico, and fans can’t bear for her to feel sorrow. Right now, they pray for her health because everyone loves her. No doubt, many DDWTD fans will be putting Amani and GG on the list of people who need positive thoughts for healing.

Praying for Amani, my brother has been ill since 13, first liver transplant at 40, not certain he can qualify again as now he needs liver and kidney. We are 11 months apart. Asking for prayers for my brother David and GG, as I also have cancer. Will add to prayer chain. Let us know if your families progress. Oh my, last episode I saw was Karen falling to ground on ski trip and she said her heart. Praying for Karen as well ❤️🩹

I love the show Which is a shock for me as I don’t usually like this type of show.These kids are so cute & seem to enjoy all that is done for them.To think of tiñy Little Karen birthing all of them,no wonder she is having heart problems, She never stops.Hubby should get her some help!!

I’m truly sad to hear about their divorce. My prayers are with Karen and Deon as well as Gigi and Amani. I really loved watching the show and will miss all including Eric.
