What is the truth behind Deon Derrico’s brother Chris’ death?
Sadly, Deon’s older brother, Chris, passed away on January 27, 2020. He was 53 at the time. In an Instagram post on the day of his brother’s death, Deon said, “My eldest brother Christopher (Chris) Turner, passed away suddenly today. Gone but never forgotten.”
In his post, Deon Derrico did not disclose his brother’s cause of death, but he did make it clear that it was unexpected. Unfortunately, the cause is not being discussed publicly.

Why are Doubling Down With the Derricos fans discussing this again?
Recently, TLC viewers have been talking about Chris’ passing despite it being three years after his death. This is because the Tuesday, June 6 episode of the show included Deon getting phone calls and voicemails from a young man named Amani. Amani said he thinks he may be Chris’ son, which would make him GG’s grandson and Deon’s nephew.
At this point, it’s unknown whether Amani is actually Chris’ son, but this would be huge for the family as they continue missing their lost loved one.

On Instagram on Wednesday, Deon shared a new post, thanking fans for all of the love and support. He posted more photos of himself with Chris and wrote, “Doubling Down With #TheDERRICOs would like to thank everyone for your prayers and well wishes for the passing of my brother Mr. Christopher Shonnald Turner, gone but never forgotten!!”
