Sonja Morga, a veteran member of Real Housewives of New York just took a massive loss when she sold her brownstone home. In fact, during her time on the Bravo show, fans often saw the inside of the five-story, six-bathroom building. She’s been trying to sell it for over a decade.

Bad luck seemed to chase the former Bravo star because, in 2010, she declared bankruptcy. Then ten years later, her fashion collection, which sold through Century 21 stores hit a major snag when they declared bankruptcy. At the time, Real Housewives of New York fans felt concerned for the popular reality TV star.

Sonja Morgan isn’t about to start digging through dumpsters to feed herself, but her fortunes slid after her divorce from John Adams Morgan. Her time on the show netted her good money, as did her retail line. More recently, she started earning through her OnlyFans. By good fortune, she kept her home in New York. However, trying to sell it seemed impossible. Now that she finally unloaded it, she lost millions.

The Real Housewives of New York Star Sells Home

The home that cost $9.1 million in 1998 sold via an online auction for $4.45 million, according to the New York Post. Notably, the Bravo star first tried listing it over a decade ago but had no luck. Slowly, she pulled her asking price down. Again, and again, she listed. At one stage, she renovated and rented it out. So now, the RHONY alum has to accept a huge loss.

Sonja Morgan isn’t alone with her property problems in New York. Accounting to Business Insider:

In many of NYC’s upscale neighborhoods, homes are lingering on the market longer and sales are falling, signaling that when it comes to a slump in the real-estate market — not even the nation’s wealthiest Americans can walk away unscathed.

The outlet cited the former Real Housewives of New York star as telling Curbed, “I want to be free to garden and travel and not have to worry about the house — but I’m not taking nothing.”

What’s next for the RHONY alum who appeared on the Bravo special,   Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake? Right now, she’s not saying, but as she also took part in Season 4 of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, reality TV fans might see her on their TVs again.
