Susan Noles didn’t win the heart of Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, but she won herself a platform and she’s using it to tell fans to “be kind.” There’s no doubt that Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist fell in love, rushed down the aisle, and three months later filed for divorce. Susan Noles & Kathy Swarts Stick To The Premise Of The Show
When everything went south for Theresa, a lot of ABC fans slammed the couple. In fact, some people went so far as to call for the cancellation of the seniors’ version of the show. Their reactions could be they felt that the premise of the show failed. However, just because it happened once, doesn’t mean that it will happen every time.
Susan Noles loves to talk about how the Golden Bachelor takes a huge message to young and older people. Real people exist inside their older bodies. They can still love, cry, and live their lives. What happens inside young people also happens inside the hearts of older people. In other words, she humanizes the older generation. And, that is what lies at the bottom of the show.

Theresa Nist & Gerry Turner – ‘Be Kind’
In a recent interview with People, Kathy Swarts and her new friend chatted about divorce. By now, Golden Bachelor fans know that they both grew close to Theresa and Gerry. Friendships are so important. As they were part of the show, it’s noticeable that neither of them stabbed the couple about the split. Here’s the thing; they could do that as they both competed for Gerry’s heart. However, they chose to be kind.
Susan Noles seems to be very realistic about their split. Instead of endlessly churning over what happened and lashing out at the failed couple, she writes it off as “sh–t happens.” Absolutely, it does. And, there’s nobody better qualified to point that out than someone who has experienced life for more than 60 years.
Kathy Swarts and her friend agree that the couple is simply “doing what they have to do.” They didn’t live together, and they weren’t going to mend that bridge. So, why pretend everything is fine when it isn’t? Swarts added, “We all wish them a lifetime of love.”
